The spotlight is on for Deb Harter!

My name is Deb Harter, and I have been scrapping for about eight years.  I live in southern Indiana with my wonderful husband of 6 1/2 years and our two children, who are the primary subjects of my scrapbook pages.  I am a Physical Therapist, but I currently work on an as needed basis so that I can primarily stay at home with my children.  I love everything about scrapping, and enjoy the entire creative process that goes into creating a page.  I usually scrap while my kids are asleep, but when I'm not scrapping, I'm thinking about scrapping - planning pages or creating sketches.  Playing with pretty paper just makes me happy!

In addition to scrapbooking, I also love to crochet, play golf, go four wheeling on our farm, cook, and garden.  I spend a lot of time in the summer canning and freezing fresh fruit and vegetables from our garden every year.

In the past year, I have been fortunate to have served on a few design teams, and I also had my work published in Memory Makers Magazine and Scrapstreet Ezine.  I am very excited and honored to be featured on the Graphic 45 blog this week!  Please feel free to visit my blog at http://www.scrapsofdeb.blogspot.com.

combining different collections

I want to dare you! I would love to see your layouts mixing up our collections. You need to combine at least 2 collections. Soon I will pick some of your layouts to be featured on our blog. If you would like to give it a change, send your layout or card to hildejanster@gmail.com with "mixin' up" as a title.

DT member Jing-Jing also created a "mixed layout". She combined the Baby 2 Bride collection with Playtime Past. Don't you just love the result?

Can't wait to see your creations!

Fashionista Magnetic Chalkboard

My mother recently attended a Home Decor trade show in Dallas, Texas and came home with a lot of inspiration.

While I was vacationing at her home in Idaho, she mentioned that almost everything at the Trade Show was covered with chalkboard paint.  This sparked the idea for the Fashionista Magnetic Chalkboard.

I thought it would be fun to use the chalk board and also hang notes with magnets.

The Graphic 45 Fashionista Line was perfect for this project.  I cut around the beautiful vintage women and placed them in the bottom corner of the frame.  I dolled them up a bit with tiny rhinestones and pearls.

For the center of the flowers I cut out the printed Vintage Buttons from the same line and painted them with Mod Podge.  I also added tiny rhinestones and pearls to bling them up a bit.  I also used these cut outs to make several magnets.

For the Shoe Magnet, I cut out shoes the tiny shoes from the Fashionista Line and tied them to twine.  I added charms for added cuteness.

Personally, I LOVE shoes and thought the Cinderella quote was perfect.

I also crafted some paper shoes to hang from the corner of the frame with ribbon.  I attached charms to add a "little something".  My mother helped with the stitching and we were pretty happy with the way they turned out.

I thought it would be fun to add some little hooks to the bottom of the frame to hang jewelry from.  Maybe that is something you can try!

Have fun,

Christie Bryant

The Spotlight is on Scarlett Barger!

g45dsc07688.JPG

I grew up in western Ky and have lived for a time in La, Tx, and
NJ and currently live in Eastern Ky with my husband of 30 yrs. I am a
mother of 1 daughter, 3 sons and 1 stepdaughter. I have 13
grandchildren and 1 great grandson. I love doing layouts of their
pictures and telling the stories that go along with them. I love to
quilt.  I think scrapbooking and quilting are akin in the fact that
there are so many luscious colors and patterns to work with in both
medias.

I give the credit for my calendar to a lady named Luci who taught
the class I took at the Scrapbook General Store in Flatwoods, KY.

The spotlight is on for Kary Lewis!

My name is Kary Lewis and I am a single mom to four AMAZING kids, ages 20, 18, 12, and 11.  I'm a California girl, born and bred, and couldn't imagine living anywhere else.  I've been a scrapper for about 8 years and have really loved creating beautiful layouts for my children to cherish and share with their children when they grow up.
I've had the honor of being on four Design Teams in 2008 and have been published in major scrapbooking industry magazines.  My outside interests include spending time with my best girlfriends, ATV'ing in the sand dunes of Pismo Beach, reading, and photography. I'm applying for nursing school in the Fall and will hopefully have my R.N. degree in 3 years (fingers crossed).  I am so excited to have been chosen to be the Graphic 45's featured artist this week!
