A Christmas Card
Ok, I have to admit. I am NOT a cardmaker, nor do I try to say I am one! Repeat...I am not a cardmaker!
Now I have a ton of family and friends that suspect that they will receive a handmade card from me simply because I am a paper crafter. Well I have news for them, NOT going to happen! I have my little stack of store bought cards (ducking as the wadded up paper flies towards me) and I am desperately trying to just get them all signed and possibly with no guarantee mailed out!
But I did make ONE CARD, and I am going to share it. This is for a very special recipient of whom I cannot name. Yes, I keep lots of secrets ladies, but I do share!
Ok, here it is. Promise that you wont laugh...
So if you comment on this post, I will randomly pick a winner tomorrow and send some paper to you! Yes, it is some of the paper I stole yesterday at the office. So tell me in your post whether you make your own cards or not, and link us up to a picture and show us! We would love to see all your creativity!
Happy Crafting,
Candy

Oh, me, me, me!! and I'm the first poster!!! Please, please.

You are too funny! I am most definately NOT a cardmaker either - hense no posts... won't even try to embarrass myself with one. Don't worry Candy, your ATCs and Altered project more than make up for your lack of card skills (so you call it) Have to say that your attempt blows away any kind of creation I could muster up! Way to step out of your comfort zone and take one for the team - LOL!!

OMG! You are just like me! I scrap like crazy but really do not make too many cards. I would rather have all that work on a layout. This year I only made a very few handmade cards and the others were store bought. I can't wait to see the new papers! YAHOODLES!
Posted by: Laura | December 14, 2009 at 09:48 PM
I am also "not!" a cardmaker! That being said, I force myself to work on cards whenever I am in between creating a layout or a project lately.
I love the Christmas Past line and made this card for a challenge requiring the sentiment... A Christmas full of Sparkle and a New Year full of Cheer!

I share the sentiment of not being a card maker... but, yours is gorgeous! I make them anyways, though they may not be the best and most beautiful, my hope is the family members that receive them like them because I made them and they are original, just like all my scrappy gifts.
Thanks for the opportunity to win some of that paper stash :)

You won't be a card maker but this card is stunning. So beautiful.
I usually send Xmas cards only to my family, but this year I'm sending Xmas ATCs to all crafty friends.
You can see them on my blog.

I think the card is very lovely for a supposed non-card maker! I love the freedom you took on the hand written "happy holidays" to the left. I do make cards but not as fancy :)

I am making my own cards this year -- all 70 of them. I can't share a picture yet because they are not done. And still I sit here reading your blog. LOL!

Candy -
I don't see anything wrong with your card. Yes, some years I make my cards and some years I don't. It depends on my ambition. This year . . . well, let's say that nothing, I mean nothing is done yet. I don't know where the time went - LOL!

I make lots of cards, they are quick and easy AND fun!

I have tried to make cards, but I always
have trouble with what to write in the
inside. So the cards I do make end up on
a scrapbooking layout. I love your angelic
card.

Oh, no, not a card maker... although every time I spend $3-4 on a Hallmark card, I'm kicking myself... perhaps I should re-think this card thing!
Posted by: Jenna Kellso | December 15, 2009 at 06:32 AM
For a non-cardmaker, you might consider making cards. Great job. Love the paper.

I do not make cards for the holidays. Love store bought cards because the one time I had to make 60 cards to send out for Christmas I went out of my mind!
Posted by: Teri | December 15, 2009 at 09:10 AM
Your card is beautiful! I do not send out any holiday cards.

Wow-if I could make cards this good I would certainly consider myself a card maker! I try but I find I am doing better with acrylic ATC's as "cards".
