Introducing February's Guest Designer Lynne Woolgar
We are please to have Lynne as February guest designer for Graphic 45. Lynne has provided us with a bio about herself below:
Hi everyone! My name is Lynne Woolgar and I live in Vero Beach, Florida. I have three adult children, one daughter and two sons, and a 1yr old grand-son. I have been an arts & crafts fanatic for about 22 years. It all started with my grand-mother Nini. She made the most remarkable crafts you’ve ever seen, from crocheting to painting to hooked rugs to sculptures. She was never afraid to try her hand at something new!! I grew up wanting to be just like her!
I started scrapbooking in the early ‘90s, and although I enjoyed the process, I made very few layouts. It took me 5 years to get one album done! Fast forward to 2004; a divorce and a major move back to Florida changed all of that. Funny how, my scrapbook supplies were the only arts & crafts items that I brought with me. I worked on a few pages during the next few years, but concentrated more on home decorating, sewing, and floral arranging. While out shopping one day, I picked up a magazine that inspired me to venture into a new art form – collages!! Still working on that one! Of course, if you are making collages, you need pretty papers, stamps, inks, all of the lovely supplies you need to do scrapbooking! Boy, was there a lot of new stuff out there, I was totally amazed at all of the great and innovative products on the market!! At about the same time, my daughter Ashley, announced that she was pregnant!! Well, that was it….I had to document her pregnancy and the baby shower, and the birth, and the footprints, and the smile, and the…….everything!!! Now, I’m hooked!
In the last 2 years, I have learned so many new techniques, and found so many wonderful products, that I don’t think I’ll ever catch up! Scrapbooking has become a way of life for me. Not only is it my creative outlet and escape, it has also helped me to regain some sanity in my hectic life.
My style varies quite a bit, from child themes, to very simple layouts, to vintage chic. I
love to mix the modern with the vintage style. This is what I love the
most about Graphic 45’s beautiful products. I get the best of both
worlds.
Here is some lovely work that Lynne as done for us:
Here are Lynne's instructions for her lo "I wish" - as well as a close up below of those amazing flowers!
I Wish LO:
The pic is me, from a long, long time ago!!!! I just happened upon it
& decided to use it for this LO! Lace & ribbon from my stash.
Flowers are made using Plantin Cartridge on Cricut. I followed Tim
Holtz's tutorial to make these, with my own twist. Title is made from
Blackletter Cartridge. "Time" is from Tim Holtz. Brad is by BoBunny.
The leaves are from a vintage dictionary. I tore the pages into 'leaf'
looking pieces. Crunched them, wet them and ironed them dry. I then
added Distress Inks to age them a bit more.
I might have to have a go at those flowers! They are wonderful. We will be sharing more of Lynne's fabulous work later in the month. We will also continue our blog relay with Couture Cardstock.
Then be sure to check in because I still plan on showing you what the design team as done with our new CHA releases!
Until then - Happy Scrapping!
