Day 6: A final introduction, baby2bride and tombow!

I hope that everyone is enjoying the swap with Tombow and Graphic45 so far.  The design team has been awesome in sharing their beautiful projects and wonderful videos.  Doesn't our new design team just rock!

For the last couple of weeks we have been introducing our new design team members, one at a time, sharing their stories and the fabulous work they turned in when they applied.  There is one person left to introduce....that is "little ol' me."

Candybwprofilefinal

My name is Candy Rosenberg, I am the Design Team Coordinator and Education here at Graphic45.  To say I have the dream job would be an understatement.  And I love to tell my story.  Two years ago the owner of my local scrapbook store, Krop, Paper, Scissors gave me a call telling me to come down as soon as possible you have to read about this "new" company, they are so you and your style.  When Karyn calls, I usually run and I did.

When I got there, she showed me an issue of Scrapbooking and Beyond that had a great feature on a brand new company called Graphic45.  The feature told how Diane Schultz got started and how she transformed her talents into paper designing, as I turned the page there they were,  the Graphic45 papers, I remember a brief moment where I could not catch my breath and muttered a few words.   (Just ask Karyn!)

The reason for this is that I had such a hard time scrapbooking what I felt was natural to me.  There were alot of papers out there at the time, and other than a few of them (and they know who they are) there really was not anything that spoke to me.  I was truly a  shabby chic/vintagey scrapbooker in every way, I would handcut for hours, layer papers and distress when it wasnt even considered as cool as it is today!  I was at a point where I stopped scrapbooking all together for the most part.  Until that day standing there in Karyn's store.  That day changed my life, my vision and what I wanted to do.

I am blessed in every way to be a part of this team and work with the three most incredible women in the industry, Diane, Aimee and Charee!

On to my project:  My niece is getting married the end of June and I had this wonderful little album that was screaming to get covered.  I want to show her from being a baby to a bride in this 8 x 8, four page album.  Unfortunately, I do not have all the pictures here yet.  We have had to be very secretive!  I still wanted to share what I had until I have pictures.

First I placed the album down on the paper and trace in a light color.  Then cut.

Babytobride2

Tombow's Mono Aqua was perfect for covering the surface of the album cover.

Babytobride1

Tombow's adhesive runner, a personal favorite, was perfect for putting together the hand made flower on the cover.

Babytobride3

I used a great patterned stamp on a blank chipboard alpha.

Babytobride4

I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, "Cherub Pink, Hula Hoop" using one color on the top and the other on the bottom and rotated on each one.

Babytobride6

Once I got all the elements put together, I completed the front of the album with a hand made flower made from strips of paper, and another fabulous vintage stamped image.  The image is actually stamped on the paper, then stamped on another paper and handcut each to give a 3D effect.

Babytobridefront

This page will be where her baby picture will be.

The  page on the left is made so that notes and other small items can be tucked behind the papers and the other side for the final wedding picture.

Although a bit simpler than what I normally do, I still love the way it turned out.  Once I have the "secret" pictures that will be here in the mail next week.  It will be complete.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to jump on over to the Tombow Blog to see what those fab girls over there have come up with!

Happy Crafting,
Candy
