Cruising with Tracey and her Punky Sprouts Album

“My Favorite Things About Cruising” – mini album (Punky Sprouts)

G45 - Cruising - cover small

My favorite thing about creating a mini album is putting the rings on so you finally get to see all of the individual pages come together in one cohesive book.  This is especially so with a wild and crazy album like this Punky Sprouts album.  It came with two sets of gate pages, two acrylic pages, two burlap pages and the final back chipboard page.  So many pages to open this way, see through that way… and when it all came together, VOILA!  My biggest piece of advice before tackling an album like this is not to be afraid!  Punky Sprouts has some of the cutest and most creative albums out there and you just have to jump in and play with them!  I had never created with a burlap page before, but with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and chipboard to back the photos and help them stand rigid, the pages were designed and done before I knew it!

Another design tip you will see in this album is consistency and simplicity.  I know, I know… there is a lot going on in the book, but because of that, I kept base elements consistent.  Each photo is matted with the same chocolate color cardstock and the photos were all treated the same way. (sanded edges, inked, and chocolate cardstock that was scissor distressed)  There is almost no journaling in this album as I let the page titles and the photos do the talking.  Each time you turn a page, there is another example of things I love about cruising… exploring history, family, food, private beaches, pillow chocolates and towel animals, and awesome tours.  Embellishments were also kept to a minimum so that the photos could tell the story.

FABULOUS album Tracey!!!

This is one jam-packed album Tracey! Awesome.... Oh, Happy Birthday!

It WAS a big album, but fun to put together! Thanks for the b-day wishes, Tammy! The first day of my 40's has been GREAT! ;-)

I LOVE this cruise album!!!! I have tons of cruise pics that I still have to scrap! This album is amazing! Hmmm... Now if I could only get someone to do it for me! :)

In regard to your comment about not a lot going on in the book, I like that the photos are able to stand out. You don't always need to go crazy in the embellishing department. This book is proof, it's fantastic!
