"Ok so the ribbon I used on my bag is beautiful but I needed fun & creepy. So I turned to my heat gun to give me the affect I needed. I let my heat gun get hot then held the ribbon in one hand and ran it over the top very fast and the ribbon cinched. Now it is FUN & CREEPY." -Laura De La Rosa

Halloween craft time is in full swing and we couldn't be more excited! There are so many ways to get inspired this season with Graphic 45 paper. Here's another example of some spook-tacular ideas to liven up your Halloween. Take a look at this fantastic 3-D trick-or-treat bag made by Tracey. Be the envy of every kid on your block this year with this adorable little candy tote.

G45 - T or T(1) Bag Alice small

"This bag was fun to create!  I chose background papers and then a main “scene” for the front and back of the bag.  I used my exacto knife to separate some of the picture elements from the main scene so that I could make them pop… for example, the left side of Alice and the right side of the Queen of Hearts in the “keyhole” scene.  I wanted it to look like the ladies were really arguing with each other." - Tracey Locher

G45 - T or T(3) Bag top small

Gloria shows us how to make simple and elegant fall cards

I wanted to show that Graphic45 papers can be used for simple, whimsical cards as well as the more grungy vintage types of projects. I used stamped images from Papertrey Ink, colored with Copic markers, for this set of three cards. Who would think that you could use Le' Romantique, A Proper Gentleman, and On the Boardwalk papers for a set of fall themed cards? Well, you can! I try to think out of the box to extend the "life" of my papers. Plus, I only need a bit of paper to create a card, so I save my scraps and use them - with a twist!

Let's check out Jennys beautiful space

OK, this is it, my creative space. It is not big, but it is mine and I love it. There is room for a big desk, and pretty much storage, and that is all I need, really.

Here are my wonderful Billy shelves from IKEA. They are not quite deep enough to hold 12X12” albums, as you can see, but they are perfect for storing just about everything else.

Room1

Here is the opposite wall. Laptop, printer, more shelves... I store my cardstock behind the laptop in desktop organisers from IKEA. They are really cheap, and the perfect size. I like to keep most of my stash where I can see it, and be reminded to use it, so the open shelves were the only choice for me. But of course, not everything is pretty enough to be stored in plain sight, so I also have lots of baskets and boxes on my shelves to hold the things that I do not want everyone to see.

Room2
This old printers’ tray is most definitely one of my favourite things in my room. It is perfect for displaying pretty flowers, other embellishments, or just things that inspire me right now. So, whenever I get a new package of pretty flowers in my hands, I rip it open and fill upp the little compartments to be able to enjoy them until they end up on a layout or another project.

Room4
Here is another favourite thing – a big wirework cake stand. Right now it is full of distress inkpads, old spools with bakers’ twine and ribbons, and the stamps I love the most at the moment.

Room5
I found these boxes at a local supermarket, and they are also great for storing things I want to be able to see and pick from almost daily.

Room6

Meet is my friend Emrik from IKEA, who takes care of all of my patterned papers for me. I store them in boxes sorted by manufacturers, and Emrik surely can hold a lot of them.

Room7

I have quite a few ledge shelves on the walls, for little jars and bottles of this and that. On this little piece of shelf you can see three of my addictions – white buttons from the thrift shop, Scrappy Glue and pins.

Room8

I am really, really happy to be a part of the Graphic 45 design team, and do you know why? It is because I love vintage things, and I love surrounding myself with them, and that keeps me very inspired to work with the vintage patterns and themes of Graphic 45. Here are my vintage household scales, too complicated to use in the kitchen when there are so may high tech things that are easier and faster to use, but too cute to keep locked away somewhere, so I keep it on the shelf in my scraproom where it makes me happy to see it every day.

Room9

Here is another vintage addiction – wooden spools, which I use for displaying my laces and trims instead of keeping them hidden away in some drawer.

Room10

So, that was my room. Every single piece of furniture in it, except for the chair, is from IKEA, and a lot of the baskets and boxes I use for storage are also from there. I am lucky enough to have tree IKEA stores within two hours drive, one of which is the “mothership” of all IKEA stores – the one and only original where it all started.

It has taken me many years to find the best ways of organising all of my stash. There are still improvements to be made, and I make changes constantly. I am pretty happy with it the way it is now, though. The only problem is that some time next year we are going to move out of this house and I will have to leave this room. We are going to move into a house where the only room I can use for my scrapbook stuff is about as small as this one, but has a staircase in it and sloping ceiling on top of that. I will not have room for neither my desk nor my Billys, so I will have to be quite inventive, I suppose.  We will, however, have a big barn too where I might be able to build a bigger scrap studio some day, but I have to fight two boys with a big interest in collecting junk for it, so there are no guarantees that will ever happen.

Thank you Jenny for sharing your beautiful room with us,

Candy
