Thank you for joining us on this fabulous Tuesday! We're so glad you stopped by. We've got more amazing crafts from our wonderful Design Team to share with you. Today is all about cards. Any time is a good time to send a card to someone you care about. Handmade cards are fun to make and a terrific way to brighten someone's day. If I'm ever feeling lazy or anxious, I like to put on some good music and create a personalized card. It's a perfect way to turn a frown upside down! It's one of my favorite ways to unwind, be creative, and have something beautiful to show for it! We're hoping that today's cards will inspire you to make something special. Even if you don't have a special occasion to make a card, it's still great to have a small collection of cards on hand in case you need them. You never know when you might need to give someone a card in this fast paced, action packed world. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings, or just because; it's always good to be ready with a beautiful card!
This first creation is from the card queen herself, the wonderful Gloria Stengel. She used Curtain Call in this simple and elegant card that also doubles as a gift card holder. Gloria always finds beautiful and creative ways to make gift card holders. This card is a terrific example of her elegant designs and clever imagination.
Supplies:
Cardstock: American Crafts, Bazzill Basics Graphic45 Paper: Curtain Call (Curtain Call, The Cinema, Applause) Stamps: Papertrey Ink Just the Ticket, Hero Arts Every Day Sayings Dye ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Envelope: Graphic45 Envelope Staples Ribbon: May Arts Film strip: Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mini brads: unknown
Our next card creation was made by the wonderful Nancy Wethington. This card combines Le Cirque, Botanicabella, A Proper Gentleman, and Times Nouveau. It is wildly imaginative, with gorgeous layers that create a three-dimensional effect. It's so beautiful, sophisticated, and very fun!
"May and June has me thinking of graduations. This card was designed with the idea of tucking a gas card inside for that special graduate. Wanting to make the design dimensional, I popped the card out of a circular paper, reminiscent of the clown popping out of the round paper ring in the Le Cirque collection. The beauty of Graphic 45 is that you can pull papers from several different lines and they all coordinate." -Nancy Wethington
This next card was created by the lovely Lynette Carroll using Once Upon a Springtime and On the Boardwalk. It's another example of Lynette's gorgeous and feminine style. She has an amazing eye for tiny details that pull the entire piece together. Just look at this pretty thank you card she created! Lynette was kind enough to prepare instructions on how to create this beautiful card! Check it out!
1. For this card I chose three patterned pieces of paper to make my background. I layered the green dot paper over a very narrow strip of red paper and then adhered those two pieces of paper to the black patterned paper. I trimmed this new background piece to fit the front of my card, leaving a small ivory border around all 4 sides. This ivory border gives the card a clean look and frames the card.
When making cards, I love to layer pieces of papers to create my own unique embellishment. With the addition of foam mounting tape between several of the paper layers, you can achieve some nice dimension and depth to your projects. As shown in the first photograph, choose all the pieces of paper you are going to use on the project and cut each one to size. Next, work out where your layers are going to be. I adhered the top two pieces of paper together to form layer number 1.
2. For the next layer, I adhered the piece of postcard paper to the two portrait trading cards I had cut. Note, I only wanted to use the outside borders of the trading cards so I carefully arranged my papers to cover up the inside images.
3. I then added a piece of "rubbish" chipboard to the reverse of my two layers I had created. When you are layering papers and adhering them to a project with foam mounting tape, you will achieve a much cleaner and professional finished look to your project if you give your papers a nice solid backing before adding the foam mounting tape. Once you have strengthened the layers, add strips of foam mounting tape. I prefer to use foam mounting tape from a roll rather than the little tiny squares. By using foam from a roll you create a nice solid background, one that is not going to "sink" where there is no tape.
4. Once you have strengthened the layers and added foam tape to the reverse side of each one, adhere these two layers together and now you have one layered embellishment to decorate the front of your card. Adhere this piece now to the center of the card.
5. To complete the card, layer some paper on the reverse side of the wood dress form, tie a bow with black ribbon or seam binding and adhere it to the card front. Note: I cut the stand off the dress form to make it a little shorter to fit onto the card. Thread three small buttons with twine and adhere them to the bottom right corner of the card. I added two small flowers to the left side of the card. Once the adhesive on the flowers was dry I lightly painted a layer of the frosted stickles to them, giving them a soft pearlised look. To finish off, apply rubons and add a pearl head pin to the card sentiment.
Many thanks to our amazing Design Team members, Gloria Stengel, Nancy Wethington, and Lynette Carroll for their beautiful work today. We are so happy to have their dazzling talents on our team! We hope they helped inspire your day. Join us tomorrow for more amazing craft ideas!

Overflowing with gorgeous flowers, butterflies, clock gears, and luscious colors, this altered picture frame is beautifully balanced and breathtaking. Want to know how it was made? Sherry has prepared a video tutorial that shows you her techniques! Amazing! Here's what Sherry had to say about this lovely creation.
"The frame was painted black and then covered with Steampunk Debutante paper. The paper was glued down with Multi-Medium matte and the excess was removed by sanding away at the edges. Vintage Photo Distress Ink was then sponged on the edges of the frame. The middle image was centered and the wings were painted with Black Soot Distress Stickles. An extra hat and dress were cut out, the edges sponged with Vintage Photo and raised over the image with foam mounting tape. The hat was also painted with Black Soot Distress Stickles.
Craft Foil was die cut with Sprightly Sprockets and then covered with Black Soot Alcohol Inks with a drop of Copper Mixative added.
The flowers were made by die cutting/embossing Steampunk Debutante paper with Rose Creations and Carnation Creations. The flowers were shaped with a petal roller and a foam pad. All the leaves were die cut with the Foliage Die Template and then colored different hues of greens.
The butterfly in the top right corner was glued to a piece of Clearly for Art, heated with a heat tool and the wings were shaped with the Clearly for Art was still warm." -Sherry Cheever

Today we have some absolutely gorgeous crafts from our Design Team. We're really going all out with the copious amounts of crafts on today's blog. It's all about amazing cards today. We've got stunning creations from Tara Orr, Nicole Eccles, and Yuka Hino! So lets get to it! First up is this amazingly detailed 3-D card by Nicole Eccles. Nicole's work is always so innovative and fun. This card is going to knock your socks off! Wow, check it out!
"What I love most about this card is the ability to use it for so many occasions. With a few little changes, and some quick printing this could be a father’s day card, birthday card or invitation. Add some pictures to the inside and turn it into a little mini book. Also, everything about the card folds down flat by just un tucking 2 flaps, making it easier to put in an envelope, or give as a gift. This one is just perfect for my mom, she loves all the vintage circus images, and Graphic 45. Especially the elephants!! Couldn’t have been more perfect!" -Nicole Eccles
Wow, crafters, are you blown away yet? Wait, there's more! Next we have an amazingly layered circus stamp card by the fabulous Tara Orr. Tara is well known for her wonderfully imaginative and elegant creations. Today's card is classic Tara, as you will soon see. Have a look at this wonderful work of art!
"I have completely fallen in love with the rich, warm tones found in the Le Cirque collection. They work wonderfully for both masculine or feminine cards and as such, I decided to make a 'blank' card for one of those occasions when you are invited last minute to an event, need a fantastic personal card and haven't the time to pick one up at the store. I love the fact that each of Graphic 45's collections mesh so seamlessly with one another. For this card I combined, Botanicabella, Le Cirque and Transatlantique!" -Tara Orr
Wow, wasn't that fantastic!? Okay crafters, get ready for more amazement! Yuko Hino has created this super fun pop-up card and tutorial for you to enjoy. Yuko's work is so clever and cute, and today she's sharing her wonderful techniques with us. We're so happy! Get ready for a heaping dose of craft inspiration!

Happy Thursday to you all! We are so glad you're taking the time to join us today for some fabulous crafts from our amazing Design Team. We've got a bunch of goodies in store for you today, including a terrific layout tutorial by Melanie Forbes! All of today's crafts feature our gorgeous On the Boardwalk collection. I happen to adore On the Boardwalk for it's amazingly vibrant colors, fabulous patterns, and overall sunny disposition. Take my advise, if you're ever having a gloomy day, make something special with On the Boardwalk. It's like taking a walk on the beach on a bright, warm day. It's a guaranteed smile-maker. Today's amazing On the Boardwalk crafts were created by Robin Shakoor, Hilde Janbroers, and Melanie Forbes. So put on your SPF because we're headed to the beach!
This first amazing layout was created by the brilliant Robin Shakoor. This layout is just so gorgeous and heart-warming. With a beautiful central photo, amazing paper rosettes, and lots of fun layers, this LO is a craft triumph!
"One Page Layout – A day to the beach can turn into quite an adventure. I used this photo of little Ryan concentrating on his latest find as my focal point. I created rosettes using the beautiful “On the Boardwalk” collection. One of my favorite design techniques is using circles to anchor my photo. I cut a circle using a subtle sand colored patterned paper trimmed with a bold contrasting design. I added liquid pearls to give a bit of shimmer. To continue my circle theme, I layered round photos with my embellishments transforming this layout into a multi-photo page. What is a day at the beach without waves? The bottom of my page features a die cut a wave border that I inked lightly to coordinate with my design. It adds just the right touch to this fun day at the beach." -Robin Shakoor
This next LO was created by the amazing Hilde Janbroers. Hilde used lots of wonderful paper distressing, gorgeous embellishments, and lots of love to create this spectacular layout. Just look at those lovely flowers and butterflies! So pretty!
Next we have a fantastic On the Boardwalk layout and tutorial by Melanie Forbes. Melanie's style is so much fun and filled with lots of brilliant layers. So it's a real treat to have her share her beautifully eclectic techniques with us today. And check out that awesome central photo! It's the perfect photo to use in conjunction with the beach-themed On the Boardwalk collection! Take it away, Melanie!

Well, lets get to the crafts, shall we? First up is an amazing altered baby box by Hilde Janbroers. Hilde recently welcomed a new member to her family, a beautiful baby named Thomas. She created this amazing altered box that contains sentimental objects and a beautiful mini album of some of baby Thomas's first photographs. This project is so heart-warming and lovely! It's filled with so much love.
Next we have an amazing card and tutorial by Nicole Eccles. Nicole is an amazingly creative lady with a terrific eye for detail. She really knows how to set the scene for a spectacular layout or card. Just look at the beautiful dimension that this card has! Nicole is going to take us step-by-step through her creative process of making this card. Take it away, Nicole!
I decided to start off my techniques with one of my favorites that I love to use all the time. Paper Piecing using stamped images. This is a great way to make your stamped images match your project perfectly with only a few steps. By layering the stamped images, you can create one of a kind dimensional embellishments that are dramatic and crisp. Think clothes on children, or layered flowers etc. For this card I decided to paper piece a mushroom by CC Designs. It was just the perfect size for the fairy to stand on once cut out.
Adhesives: Tombow Mono Glue Stick, Scrapbook Adhesives 3d Foam Squares
To start, stamp out your image 3 times on desired patterns. I used pink, blue and cream. Once the images are dry, fussy cut along the whole stamped image, starting with the pink for the background. After the image is completely out, cut out the small dots on the top of the mushroom and set aside.
Now take your image stamped on cream paper and cut out only the stem of the mushroom and adhere onto the pink mushroom already cut out.
Last, take your image stamped on blue paper, and cut only the top of the mushroom, and the little ring that goes around the stalk.
Again, adhere cut pieces onto the pink mushroom, lining them up perfectly overtop the image underneath.
Now that the mushroom top is on, you may take the small pink dots you set aside and glue them onto the blue mushroom top. And Voila, now you have a mushroom that is 3 colors, and the colors and patterns match perfectly to your card.
Cut background paper to size of card and adhere. For the border, cut from 8x8 piece of Once Upon A springtime, cutting only along 3 sides. Once removed, cut in half across the long side of frame and set the 2 pieces on card, overlapping and lining up perfectly to the cards corners and edges. Trim if desired, and adhere the frames together to make one. Adhere to card with pop dots.
Fussy cut image of Fairy being Crowned out of Enchanted Forest and Adhere to center of card.
Cut image of fairy sitting on a fence post out of Once Upon A Spring Time, adhere to Right edge of card using pop dots.
Adhere paper pieced mushroom using pop dots, then Cut out image of standing fairy from Once Upon A Spring Time and adhere with pop dots standing on mushroom.
Cut the Fairies scroll from Enchanted Forest, crinkle for dimension and adhere with pop dots.
Finish card off by cutting out a single flower from Primrose cottage and adhering to the left edge of “the Fairies” scroll.
Well, that's all we've got for today, crafters. But you know we'll be back tomorrow with lots more gorgeous ideas to inspire you. We hope you'll stop by and see us. Many thanks to the amazing talents of Hilde Janbroers and Nicole Eccles. We are so happy to have them on our new Design Team! Have a wonderful rest of the day, crafters!

I'll never look at a thrift store dresser drawer the same way again.
