Hello Crafters,
Welcome to another fun-filled week here at the Graphic 45 blog! Thanks for stopping by and seeing us on this lovely Monday! This week is going to be wonderful. We've got lots of amazing crafts from our design team to share with you. There's also a new blog contest! So even though it's Monday we're giving you lots of reasons to smile. Today's crafts are all about home decor. We've got the most beautiful wall-hangings by Gloria Stengel, Nicole Eccles and Lynette Carroll of our design team. Looking at these wonderful creations got us thinking about a fun idea for this week's blog contest. We want you to tell us your favorite way to display your crafts. Do you put them in an album? Do you prefer to display them in a frame in your home? Or do you tend to give away most of your crafts as gifts to your loved ones? Let us know your preferred method of displaying your crafts and you could win this week's wonderful prize! A Curtain Call 8x8 Paper Pad, a Curtain Call cling stamp set, three beautiful chipboards from Imaginarium Designs, and a Fiskars Everwhere Punch Starter Set! Leave us a comment on our blog or Facebook page any day this week and you'll be entered to win! A winner will be chosen randomly and announced on our blog this Friday, September 3rd!
This first beautiful wall hanging was created by the amazing Gloria Stengel. She used our Le Cirque and On the Boardwalk collections to create this warm and vibrant piece of summer home decor. It's amazing how Gloria perfectly blended these two collections together to create a stunning work of art!

Next we have this wonderfully fun Magic of Oz and Steampunk Debutant wall hanging by Nicole Eccles. This piece is so much lively and perfectly captures the whimsical spirit of Oz. Here is what Nicole had to say about the inspiration for this marvelous creation.
"For this project I used a mix of Steampunk Debutante and Magic of Oz to create a 3D Framed Wall Relief. I wanted to create something that would be great for a child’s bedroom, but also classy enough for adults too! Because let’s face it, we are all still kids at heart. With a love for those classic memorable movie images from our childhood, and a passion for cutting and glueing paper just like kindergarten... Except as adults, we get to use WAY cooler stuff, like all things G45!! And these 3D chipboard letters are just the perfect thing for SOOO many G45 inspired projects!! Available for purchase at a variety of craft stores, the combinations are endless." -Nicole Eccles
.
This next piece is by Lynette Carroll. She used our new Christmas Emporium collection to create this classic and heart-warming holiday wall hanging. Here is what she had to say about this lovely craft creation.
"I love to create pieces of Home Decor with my photos instead of always keeping them tucked inside an album. For this project, I used a page from a ringed album from Want2Scrap as the background for my piece of Christmas Art. I will display this piece of art on an easel in my home with my other Christmas decorations in December. Remember when buying scrapbook products, you don't always have to use them in the manner they were intended for. To design this piece, I covered the chipboard album page and lightly sanded and inked the edges. I then cut out the Father Christmas scene from the Christmas Emporium paper and placed him on the left side with foam mounting tape for dimension. I then simply layered pieces of cut paper until I was happy with the layout. I added my photo with foam mounting tape for dimension and also the two pieces of holly. To complete the project I lightly brushed the leaves of the holly with Diamond Stickles and colored the berries with the Red Stickles." -Lynette Carroll

Supplies:
Ranger Industries - Red Stickles
Ranger Industries - Diamond Stickles
Ranger Industries - Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink
Shabby Crafts - December Calendar
Misc: Foam Mounting Tape

We will be picking three random winners and announcing them on our blog on September 2nd! The deadline is fast approaching so don't miss out. Great wall hangings! Wow, your question makes me think of all the ways I display art. My walls are filled with paintings/drawings/collages my husband and I have made over the last few years. I keep 'tags' in an album, if I create a tag I like to keep a record of it, and often will recreate to use on a gift bag or greeting card. I love making collages on canvas or 'wooden art panels', the collages can either go on the wall or on a small wooden or antiqued metal easel. Some collages, etc end up in little boutiques and shops around town. I love giving gifts, so people all around the country have a little piece of my artwork. Great question Graphic 45. Time to create!

Beautiful wall hangings! I really enjoy giving my projects away to loved ones! BUT, those that I get from crafty friends I love to display in my home. If it's a tag I have a lifesize dressform top that I hang them on. If it's an altered item I have a shelving system! Thanks for the chance to win some yumminess!
XoXo,
Katie

I like using hanging artists trays. The wooden frame and the windows are fun to work with using 3d embellishments. I made one using your Magic of Oz collection and posted the picture on Facebook. I'm now making one using your Curtain Call line for my daughter who is a theatre major.

the OZ Wall relief is AMAZING. Just absolutely stunning --- I cannot quit looking at it in all it's detailed glory!! As far as displaying my crafts goes.. I bought a giant shelf at a garage sale that was originally a quilt rack.. I now can hang projects from it as well as display things on top! Great solution.

Love the wall hangings. Im actually getting ready to make some for my living room. Just trying to pick out the perfect paper from my gazillion sheets of paper I already have!!!!!
Posted by: Tammy Hall | August 29, 2011 at 09:13 AM
I love using the big OZ letters!! Great idea!! Beautiful projects!! I have a line put up in my workroom that I hang my favorite projects on. I use bulldog clips that slide on the line. I also have a small easel. I wish I could use magnets on a strip but I can't find any strong enough. I could put them on the back of most projects and they would hang nicely. I made some hooks out of wire and copper that I hang on a lamp switch- nice for smaller ones and they are under the light so they are lit up. I love to keep as much work out in view as possible. It inspires me and helps me study the work.

Love all the projects! I love to display my creations on canvas and hanging on my walls or using easels.

I love to share my crafts. I give them to my friends and family. I also design alot of my LO's with specific people in mind. Im one of those weird people that make the LO without the picture. Unless of course, I have a specific picture I know I want to scrap. But I think sharing is a wonderful way to lighten peoples hearts. I always have loved home made gifts over store bought!!!!! But I do have albums of cards that I have made that I use as a idea book. So when I need to make a card....I can look in my albums and find something I like. Other times, I just wing it!!!!

Really famtatic projects! I think Graphic 45 is just perfect for OTP projects- at least I did some, more than pages, from those products: frames, home decos..
Posted by: Irit | August 29, 2011 at 11:25 AM
Lovely creations all of them! Well usually I create something based on an idea, my inspiration. I prefer to make layouts or albums to preserve the precious memories of our family but often I create projects for gifts to my beloved ones. My husband and my three daughters use to decorate our house with my creations for them. I am very inspired from the wall hangings that you show to us and i'm very tempted to create something like that for Christmas. Thank you so much for the chance to win this wonderful prize and the whole design team for the adorable inspiration!

Great work! I do a bit of everything, I like full size 12x12 album's for myself and gifts; love mini books; of course the odd project like the muffin tins and boxes. We keep a clear glass cookie jar at the store filled with some of my own mini books, and a full size album on the table in front of it. At home I have albums and projects scattered throughout, including a 7' tree painted on the wall to 'hang' our family photos.
