It's going to be a fabulous and inspiring day! Fall is such a fun time of year. Pumpkins start showing up at the store and at farm stands! There's an ever-present creative energy in the air as folks gear up for Halloween. Plus there's all sorts of delicious goodies to bake and consume. Yes, Autumn is an awesome season! With this festive spirit in mind we came up with our Halloween Rejuvenation Challenge to help jump-start your holiday crafting. We want to thank everyone who submitted a project for the challenge and thank you to our voters on Facebook. Our two winners are Dee Dee Catron and KimberlyRae Forde. Please email us at info@g45papers.com with your shipping information so we can mail you your prize! Hooray!  This first project is Dee Dee Catron's Magic of Oz creation. Wow! So lovely and festive! Here is what Dee Dee had to say about it.

"It started out as a white and green colored gardening fence complete with pots and shovel. I used The Magic Of Oz collection to spruce it up a bit.. I also used moss, pumpkins, wire, black acrylic paint, diamond glaze, hot glue, glitter glue, and cardboard to strengthen the characters. " Dee Dee Catron

Here we have a gorgeous Fall centerpiece by KimberlyRae Forde. Here is what she had to say about this wonderfully detailed work of art!

"Old Painters Can [rescued from the dump trailer my husband cleaned out and discarded from the garage..it's at least 15yrs old]! Rejuvenated into a Painters Can Fall Centerpiece. I used several papers from collections that I have-Times Nouveau, Playtimes Past and The Magic of Oz." -KimberlyRae Forde

1. Loren Rullan Crane
2. Jayne of Posh Creations

Congratulations ladies! Please email us with your shipping information at info@g45papers.com and claim your prizes. And big thanks to everyone who left a comment this week. We had so much fun and we hope you did too!   Now lets get to it! This first amazing Graphic 45/Fiskars craft is by Nancy Wethington. There's even a sweet tutorial to go along with it! Get ready to be majorly inspired! Take it away, Nancy!

Having recently found some old family photos of my Grandma, her brothers and sister and Mom & Dad, I wanted to do something to preserve these memories and the stories behind these photos. My Grandma was born in Asturias, Spain in 1904.  She came to the U.S. with her family around 1908 and eventually settled in St. Louis.  The photos I have were taken sometime between 1910 and 1920 and were mounted as postcards.  Therefore, I didn't want to put them on any photo mats and possibly ruin the discretion of the postcard.  So pockets seemed like the answer for these photos. This is the album completed with the few photos I found.

Family 1

I started with plain chipboard, cut so that it was staggered.

   Family 2

I knew I wanted to use the Fiskars edge punches so I painted the edges of the chipboard with black acrylic.
  Family 3

This photos shows the Postage Stamp Fiskars border punch used on the Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire Bona Fide paper.  The punched edge really shows up against the black background.

Family 4

Here is the Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire Enlightened paper finished with the Fiskars Leave It To Weaver border punch.

  Family 5

The finished chipboard, all covered and ready for decorating.

  Family 6

I used a template I had to create envelopes with Graphic 45 papers and Fiskars Twist & Flip Corner punch.  Love this punch! You get two different sized corners with just one punch.  Just flip the top and you're ready with the next size!

Family 7

Because I didn't want to use tabs on the photo postcards, I used Fiskars Seal of Approval Squeeze Punch.  I have been using these punches for years.  The design of these is impeccable. Previous to Fiskars coming out with these punches, I would turn my punches upside down to see what and where I was punching, then try to maneuver the actual punch without moving the paper.  No more!  Fiskars has brilliantly designed these punches that are the easiest ever to use.

Dressing up envelopes is easy with Fiskars punches.  Here, I punched an edge of an envelope with Fiskars Leave It To Weaver Border punch. I punched a strip of Renaissance Faire paper with Fiskars Postage Stamp Border punch and then wove the Postage Stamp border paper through the holes of the Leave It To Weaver envelope.

This Postage Stamp Easy Squeeze punch will get a little dressing up a bit later. Fussy cuts are easy with the Fiskars Non-Stick Scissors #5.  You can see how sharp and pointy they are.  Perfect for getting in the tiny crevices of Graphic 45's Masterpiece designs.

Family 13
Here is the fussy cut finished and ready to go.

Family 14
Wanting to add a tiny flower to one of the pages, I created a very simple design from Fiskars Seal of Approval punch.

Family 15

Punch 5 circles using the Fiskars Seal of Approval punch

Family 17
From one circle, using Fiskars scissors, cut away one section of the circle.

  Family 18

Roll up tightly and glue.  I like to hold these with a clip or hemostat until the adhesive is dry. Cut a line into 3 of the remaining circles - just about half way to the center.  Roll each circle up (as you did the first, but not quite as tight) and adhere the edges of each circle together.  Clip until dry.

Family 19
Going back to the first circle, using Fiskars scissors, cut off the cip of the circle. Thread stamens through from the inside of the circle.
Family 22

Here's the finished product, with all the circles glued together, leaves attached and ready for the envelope.

Family 23
Page 1 of the Family book. I love to paint the Graphic 45 Metal Staples in any color that suits my project.  Here, they are painted with Red Barn acrylic paint and then I added a hanging tag from Graphic 45 Sticker Staples
Family 24_edited-1

Family 26
Pages 4 and 5

Family 27
Gotta love the original photo postcards.  Rather than write in ink, I wrote names in pencil on the back.

Family 29
Page 7 close-up with the punched and threaded envelope and the mini flower attached.

Family 30
Fussy cuts with Fiskars Scissors #5 were used on page 8

Family 32
Hope you enjoyed my mini-book using the amazing Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire paper.  The designs of the paper are so rich it even makes plain chipboard look wonderful!  With the addition of Fiskars fabulous tools - it creates a bit of a WOW factor without much fuss.

Supplies:

Graphic 45 Papers: Renaissance Faire Collection:  Enlightened; Bona Fide; Masterpiece;
Graphic 45 Staples: Geometric Door Knob; Metal Tags; Kraft Envelopes; Sticker Staples
Ranger Industries: Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Adhesive:  Beacon 3-in-1
Imaginarium:  FAMILY letters
Fiskars: Non-Stick Scissors #5; Seal of Approval Squeeze Punch; Postage Stamp XLG Easy Squeeze Punch; Postage Stamp Border Punch; Leave It To Weaver Border Punch; Apron Lace Border Punch; Twist & Flip Corner Punch

Next up is this wonderful Christmas Emporium card, also created by Nancy Wethington. 'Tis the season to get inspired with Graphic 45 and Fiskars! Take a look!

Christmas Card 1
As soon as the Fall weather starts rolling in, I start thinking about the holidays . . . and that leads to Christmas cards.  Christmas Emporium is just my style with its beautifully designed vintage patterns and images. This is the cardfront designed with Christmas Emporium, a Spellbinders die and Fiskars punches.  For this card I used both the 12x12 and 8x8 Graphic 45 patterns. The background was cut from the Graphic 45 8x8 pad.  The rest of the images from the 12x12 Christmas Emporium pad.

Christmas Card 2

Here's the card in progress.  The Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accent die reminded me of a snowflake and would make a good backdrop for the adorable children.  They needed some color behind them so I used the Fiskars Seal of Approval Squeeze Punch with the Believe! paper to add some color contrast. Keeping the theme of the postcard and stamp from Believe!, I used the Fiskars Postage Stamp Border Punch with side B of the Believe! paper to create a border and anchor the children. Using the Fiskars Scissors #5, it is so easy to fussy-cut the images from All I Want For Christmas. All dressed up, popped up and ready to go!

Christmas Card 5
The inside of the card uses all the same Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium papers.  This time I used the 8x8 pad to get mini-images.  With the Graphic 45 Cling Christmas Emporium 3 stamp set.  By using the Colorbox G45 Decades ink, I was able to perfectly match the colors of blue used in the Christmas Emporium papers.  Love that!

Christmas Card 6

Supplies:

Graphic 45: Christmas Emporium (both 12x12 and 8x8): Under the Mistletoe; All I Want For Christmas; Believe!; Special Delivery
Graphic 45 Cling Christmas Emporium 3
Fiskars: Postage Stamp Border Punch; Postage Stamp Squeeze Punch; Seal of Approval Squeeze Punch
Colorbox: Graphic 45 Decades Bon Voyage
Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accents (S5-042)
3D Foam Squares
Cardstock: Bazzill

Next we have this astonishing Hallowe'en in Wonderland and Magic of Oz centerpiece by Lynette Carroll. This gorgeous creation is sure to get you inspired to create something for our Halloween Rejuvenation Challenge. Here is what Lynette had to say about this super clever creation!

I am hosting a Halloween lunch this year and wanted to create a centerpiece for my table.  Rather than decorating with the traditional "spooky" theme I decided to create projects that were a little more "girly".  I knew straight away that I would decorate a witches hat for my table so the Hallowe'en in Wonderland papers would be perfect for my project.

IMG_0877

I bought two paper mache witches hats from the craft store, one to use for my project and the second one to cut apart for my template. I first painted the entire hat with black glitter paint and then I traced the hat pieces and cut them from the "Magic of Oz" paper and adhered them to the hat.  I then made the flowers and cut the other elements from the papers.  As I was assembling my hat I felt as if it needed some trim around the edges.  This is where I decided to use the Fiskars Notebook border Punch in a non traditional way.  Using my paper trimmer I cut 3 strips of "The Magic of Oz" paper and punched along the edge giving me a "lace effect".  I then adhered these strips together to fit around the brim of the hat and glued them to the underside of the hat.

IMG_0851

To finish the project I tied some sparkly black netting into a bow and glued it to the hat.  I then simply created my "scene" and glued it all down.

I was wrapped to receive from Fiskars some of their punches for the blog hop. I am a big fan and love the border punches.

DSC_0121

They kindly send me two borders and a squeeze punch.  The squeeze punch was in the shape of a postage stamp. Perfect for me as I love stamps. I decided to do a layout on my daughter and use “once upon a Springtime”.

DSC_0104

First I used the ribbon threading punch, I punched a strip of paper 12 inches long and threaded some apricot satin ribbon through it. It was so easy to do.

DSC_0106

I got a bit carried away and ended up with two more punched border pieces. The punches work so well and are easy to line up, allowing you to create a continues line of bordered edges on your papers. I love the way using border punches allow you to add lots of detail to your layouts without bulking the page out too much

DSC_0108

I used Enchanted Forest for the base of my layout.  I layered all the punched strips on the page. I added more ribbons to hide any joins.

DSC_0110

I love the “once upon a springtime frames” . I matted one of the big frames on some cardstock and over the top of my photo. I added a heart topped chipboard fence from Imaginarium designs.

DSC_0112

Another frame to the right of the layout balanced it nicely. I added some Prima pearls to create a flight path for the butterflies!

DSC_0126

The smaller frame gave me a foundation to build all the other elements on. I added a large chipboard Butterfly with some flowers. I used a  square from “Enchanted Forest” for a journaling block.

DSC_0115

I used the photo squeeze punch from Fiskar for my title squares. It nearly fitted the” tiny treasures” postage squares printed on the paper perfectly. I added smaller square of pink  “Spellbound”  in the middle and some chipboard alphas to spell Anna’s name.

This is one of my favourite photo of Anna. It takes me back many years. At nine months old she could just hold her head up and roll over. My husband took this photo of her and it reminds me of how tiny she was and how clever she thought she was at the time. She has grown into a lovely woman and a much love and valued member of our family. Life would not be the same without her.

Just look at how imaginative and sweetly detailed this LO is! It's so great! And the Fiskars Notebook Border Punch is totally perfect when combined with An ABC Primer! A match made in craft heaven!

Graphic 45 & Fiskars Team Up! Day 2 of Craft Fun!

Hello Crafters,

Welcome to another fun and exciting day as we team up with the fine folks at Fiskars! We have some fantastic projects from our design team to share with you. All of today's crafts were created using Graphic 45 papers and embellishments as well as great Fiskars scissors and punches. You'll see some totally inspiring ideas from Nicole Eccles, Robin Shakoor and Tara Orr. And don't forget to mosey on over to the Graphic 45 Facebook page as well as the Fiskars Facebook page and leave a comment for your chance to win a terrific prize! All you need to do is write "Graphic 45+Fiskars=______." Fill in the blank with your own words. Sound fun? You bet it is! So let's get started! This first jaw-dropping creation was made by Nicole Eccles. Nicole is brilliant when it comes to creating unique little worlds in every one of her projects. This one is an altered box and it's filled with so many gorgeous details! Here is what she had to say about this marvelous work of art.

"I wanted the look of a stage in the front, built using layers of round chipboard ie tape rolls, small gift boxes etc. I also found after putting all the layers of paper on, the box didn’t hold shut completely, so I used the idea I saw you all use at CHA on the little trunks.  Bent a metal tag over, attached a hinge and now it looks even fancier too! The Altered boxes are SOO easy to cut, actually cut the first inside flap to have an opening, then made it a little larger to fit your frames perfect!  Loving these little boxes!!!" -Nicole Eccles

Next we have this amazing Christmas Emporium card by Robin Shakoor. You wont believe how cute and clever this card is. At first glance it looks like a flat image, but from the side you can see all the amazing dimensions! This wonderful creation is full of so much holiday cheer! Here is what Robin had to say about her creative process.

"I created this fun Outer Stair Step Card using the Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium collection.  The card base is pre-scored and is made by a company called The Paper Cut.  This card design allows you to add a multitude of beautiful layers to your project. I used Fiskars Postage Stamp border punch to create a delicate scalloped border which was topped with diamond Stickles. To continue with the postage stamp theme, I punched a postage stamp shape to mat my postal stamp image cut from my patterned paper. The beautiful Santa image is my favorite from the collection and serves as my focal point." -Robin Shakoor
