Next up is this fantastic work of altered art by Nancy Wethington. This is another terrific handmade gift idea! Altered art is a great way to bring new life to an ordinary object. It is also a fabulous way to create a pretty and personalized gift for someone you love. This altered book cover by Nancy is a wonderful example of this! You can create altered art out of so many things and it is always so much fun. Just imagine what you could create! Here is a fun tip from Nancy about how she made this joyful little treasure.

"When decorating with clear acrylic, the trick is to decorate the back first and then the front.  Communique paper was first adhered to the back of the front cover and then the embellishments were adhered to the front.  It really gives a lot of dimension to a piece." -Nancy Wethington

*sigh* these are gorgeous! I loveeeeee those flowers!

Absolutely beautiful projects!! My favorite handmade gift I have made was home-canned preserves in hand decorated jars! I love looking at all the projects on your blog. They are simply gorgeous!!

These are beautiful. I love to make cards for my mother and include stamps and personalized return address labels, she loves them and so do her friends. Thanks for sharing!

So inspiring! I love them all, but that little gift box creation is my favorite for sure. Sweet!

I love to make card sets as gifts. Usually a set of four coordinating beautiful cards with adorned envelopes in a nice gift box. It's always a big hit with my friends and family, and such a pleasure to make.

I would love to get ALL of these for Mother's Day!! Thank you once again for all your wonderful inspiration.

These are so beautiful and i just love those flowers they are gorgeous...

What a wonderful way to start Monday by viewing these fabulous projects! The flowers are beautiful! I like to make scrapbooks as gifts!

Right now I like to do mini scrapbooks as gifts. Card sets are another great handmade gift. Wonderful project ideas today. Thank You

At Christmas time my husband and I get on the scroll saw to make 3d ornaments to give out. I get to pick my favorite and then I pretty them up more with either paints, glitter, paper, and flowers or what i think will do the trick. Everyone who receives one ask for more. So it has become a tradition now at Christmas.

The projects today are super! I would love to try and make Melanie's. And the rest of the teams today. Your paper is the BEST and I need MORE. Thank you.

My fav gift for my mom would be a jewel box.. top it with lots of hand made paper flowers.. I would use steampunk debutante papers for the box and tropical travelogue for making the flowers.. Will add few of the butterflies from old curiosity shoppe papers.. I would love to use the metal buttons as a stand for the box and a graphic 45 metal flower with a brad as a knob.. :) That will be my idea..

Melanie's layout is absolutely fabulous! Great vintage style!

Magnificient projects! I am stunned by their beauty!

Another Wowzer day with G45. Happy Monday! Love visiting here everyday! Projects are beautiful!

Some of my favorite gifts to my Mom have been one's that I have created that include family photos (especially of her Grandchildren). These days people or miles away so pictures are not only worth a 1000 words but often a few hundred miles! This year a plan to do an altered cigar box full of cards and mini albums for her to enjoy.

love the box and necklace.

Absolutely exquiste projects!!!!!

This year I am giving my mom a set of handmade all occassion cards. Hope she loves it!

Beautiful projects as usual! My favorite handmade craft: An OZ mini-album I made for an old (long-time) friend who is a great Oz fan! Now I'm working on a Little Darlings mini for another friend (not old!) who's expecting a little boy!

The mose wonderful gifts I have ever received have been HOMEMADE by my son!

I think all Handmade gifts are special and a real treat to give or recieve!!
My most precious at the moment are the ones made by my Son, he is in Playschool and loves making little gifts! :-)
Inky Hugs,

The Esme layout is a stunning inspiration for a vintage photo of my great-grandparents that I have been saving forever trying to decide what to do with it. Now I have found the perfect treatment, thank you!

I like them all! I usually make Christmas gifts, mostly calendars but sometimes ornaments.

My favorite idea is a little notebook for mom's purse. It has a pen that's attached to it. I picked her favorite colors in patterns she would love.

Once I made a flower arrangement for my mom, and put it in a hand decorated pot. I painted it with acrylic paint. She loved it because the flowers came from my garden.

Wow - your design team is just amazing!!

all the projects today were stunning but then working with Graphic 45 collection get you half way there. I have started to make a altered canvas scrapbook Lo for all my grandchildren, and when i say started that is what i mean i have one done need 5 more so this would be fantastic thanks for the cchance

Melanie that color combination is beautiful, love the flowers, your bling, that green polka dot accenting, just gorgeous! Sherry, you rock...those flowers ... WOW ! And Nancy, my,my , love those colors, the textures and the details ... amazing!

A unique Mother's Day gift ( for my sister's, my mom is deceased) a shadow box with items from my mom's jewelry box .

WOW! I can't pick just one. These are truly amazing projects.

Wow....oh yeah so inspired....Great projects. Love them! My Favorite idea's for handmade gifts are altered boxes. I love them. I think they are the best gifts to give because you can make them for anyone and have any kind of theme and it is something that everyone can use. The little layout box Little Darlings would be perfect as a handmade gift. Great for photos and to have a few other memories to put in. Great idea.

You have the best design team on the web! Their imaginative designs always make my day. Thanks for bringing us such beautiful work each day!

Love all the great project here today. What a cute idea on all them. Love the use of Little Darlings for other than baby gifts too

Thanks for sharing1

My favorite is Create Art! I like the key hole with the hearts! When my Mom was alive I use to crochet items for her!

Mother enjoyed the cards that I made for each holiday or event. She would have loved the box with the necklace.

I normally give card sets with card for different occassions, matching envelopes, stamps and a matching pen.

Currently I am making Mini Albums for friends and family for gifts.

What amazing projects!!

Using Grapic 45 papers on clip boards to pretty them and give as gifts so that they are not just ordinary clip boards just hanging around.
