-Shanna Shands: "This is such an awesome giveaway! I'm going to share it now!"
Congratulations, Shanna. Please email us with your shipping information at info@g45papers.com to claim your prize! This is the fabulous prize that Shanna won today! We will have another new blog contest on our blog on Monday so stay tuned for your chance to win some amazing Graphic 45 goodies!
Also, before we jump in we want to wish a Happy Birthday to our talented Gloria Stengel whose birthday is tomorrow! Hop on over to her blog to wish her a happy birthday! We are so thankful she is on our Design Team and wish her the best celebration this weekend!
Today's first craft creation was made by Clare Charvill. It's a clock that she made using French Country and the Graphic 45 Small Matchbook Box! This stunning piece of home decor truly captures the elegance and vintage charm of French Country. We also love Clare's super clever use of the Small Matchbook Box to add some beautiful depth to this work of art. The Small Matchbook Box also has a practical use to help this beautiful clock stand upright! Form, function and true beauty are on full display in this fabulous craft creation by Clare! Here is a wonderful video in which Clare takes you on a tour of this wonderful creation!
Next up is another super imaginative work of art! Behold this beautiful Olde Curiosity Shoppe keeper by Denise Hahn! This is such an inspiring piece because it so clearly demonstrates the fabulous results of uninhibited creativity. The richly saturated color pallet of Olde Curiosity Shoppe looks stunning in this cute keeper! It's the perfect collection for a one-of-a-kind craft like this one! Here is what Denise had to say about this magical craft.
"So what's a Curiosity Keeper? It's a funky little "holder" of sorts to
collect things on. Things you may want to use in a project but are
worried might get lost. Like that little tag you popped out but didn't
use- just attach it to your "keeper" same goes for small bits of ribbon,
trim, straight pins, or even your Metal Staples. I love using wire and
this is a fun and unique project is made with things just found around
the garden shed. I used some wire fencing for the base, a little
terracotta pot, and a little thrift store porcelain angel to top it off
with. I used a 24 gauge wire to wrap ribbon and trim around the base.
And how could I resist not adorning it with some embossed butterflies in
flight? Hope you enjoy this unique take on using Graphic 45 papers." Denise Hahn
Last but certainly not least is this gorgeous altered canvas made with Tropical Travelogue chipboards, stamps and lots of beautiful Graphic 45 Staples. This amazing piece was made by Susan Lui and it is yet another example of shining creativity. There are so many amazing ways to use Graphic 45 products. Altered canvases like this one really give you the opportunity to expand your creative horizons. The rich colors of Tropical Travelogue are the focal point of this superb canvas, along with the dazzling textures of layered Staples and other gorgeous embellishments. The central photo is also so pretty! Creativity reigns supreme in this wonderful work of art! Here is what Susan had to say about it.
"Here's a mixed media canvas I created using techniques I learned from a
recent workshop. The canvas plays on light and shadows and the use of
textures and layers. I used the negative part of the Graphic 45 die cut
chipboard as a base on which I built up the dimension on the canvas,
layering it with lace, twill, flowers, leaves, resin, glass, chipboard
and alphas. I used Graphic 45 Cling Stamps to add shadows around the
canvas. At the 'light' corner of the canvas, I created a cluster out of
Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue die cut chipboards and Graphic 45 Staples
Metal Ornate Key and Metal Ornate Key Hole." -Susan Lui
We hope you all enjoyed our celebration of creativity on today's Graphic 45 blog! We had so much fun getting to share these fabulous ideas with you! The atmospheric effect of the chiaroscuro Susan Lui has created with her manipulation of an analogous color scheme and use of dimension delights me more and more the longer I gaze at her canvas. And the whimsy displayed by Denise Hahn's contribution lightens the heart this gloomy, foggy day! Also, being new to scrapbooking I am so grateful to G45 and particularly Clare Charvill every day I turn to my papers and embellishments. Clare's videos have helped me define my own emerging scrapbooking style by supplying inspiration and direction that resonates on every creative level. It is really thrilling to train the eye and mind to see in new ways!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I love all three altered projects. Sue's blue mixed media is dreamy. Clare's clock is so elegant. Denise's butterflies look like they are really flying. So cool!
