Memorialize your Places in Time with Cards

.
Happy Tuesday G45ers!

Thanks for joining us this week! The "Graphic 45 Celebrates Five Years" Celebration continues on our Facebook and Pinterest pages, so make sure to join us there as well. Today, we have some Valentine's Place in Time cards that will surely give you great ideas just in time for Valentine's Day! We have cards from Arlene Cuevas, Nancy Wethington, Susan Lui, and TWO tutorials today! What a treat!

First, let's enjoy the tutorial from Arlene Cuevas using Place in Time. She creates a gorgeous circular card for Valentine's Day and also gives a brilliant tutorial to wow your love this Valentine's Day! "These cute little circle easel cards are popular and easy to make. I really like how you can display the card easily on your desk or countertop with this design. I thought I’d share with you my way of creating the base of the circle card." - Arlene Cuevas
.

Take the video tour and tutorial of Arlene's gorgeous card:

You can use any size circle. But for my project, I’m using the medium circle from my Spellbinders
Grand Scallop Circle Die set. The scallop circle is approximately 5 ½ inches in diameter.

Step 1: Take a sheet of cardstock and fold it in half.

Step 2: Run through your die-cutting machine with the scallop circle die, with the die lying slightly past the
crease line. Die cut an extra circle.

You’ll end up with the following…

Step 3: Use a scoring tool to score a line down the middle of one side of your scallop circle card.
The score will
look like this:

When folded, it will look like this:

Here’s what the Spellbinders die looks like, along with the pieces you’ve die cut:

Step 4: Use your Spellbinders Grand Circle Die to cut a circle that nests nicely in the scallop circle.

Step 5: Take some Place in Time paper and die cut it to create a layer.

This is how the layered piece will look on your card:

Step 6: Edge all of your elements with Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. It will give the card
a very vintage,
worn look.

Step 7: Take a 4 inch paper doily and cut it in half.

Step 8: Glue the doily pieces to the circle, one on top, one on the bottom. The Place in Time layer
will go over
the doily pieces, allowing the doilies to “peek” out from the top and bottom of the card.

Step 9: To assemble the card, add ScorTape or a strong adhesive, to the top of the score line as
shown in the photo
below.

Step 10: Adhere the single scallop circle piece to the area you added the ScorTape. The card will
look like this when
it’s ready to be embellished:

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Give a circle card a try with your next Graphic 45 project!
