Plus, it's Monday! Normally that statement wouldn't be very exciting but on the Graphic 45 blog it's definitely reason to celebrate! It means that we have a new blog contest this week! Hooray! This week's prize is a real winner, pun definitely intended! We are giving away this gorgeous Secret Garden prize pack that includes a Secret Garden 8x8 paper pad, Secret Garden 6x6 Patterns and Solids Pad, both sets of Secret Garden Stickers, Metal Tag Staples and Chipboard Button Staples! This prize is off the charts! Just leave us a blog or Facebook comment this week for your chance to win! We will announce one randomly chosen winner from this week's comments. The winner will be announced on this Friday's blog so stay tuned!
Today's first craft creation was made by Gloria Stengel using the new Graphic 45 Regular Tag Album Staples. She used French Country Cling Stamps and eight different Graphic 45 Staples in one tag! Isn't that amazing?! This is a wonderful example of how much fun you can have layering! The gorgeous cream, black and kraft colors of Graphic 45 Staples give this card such vintage-inspired elegance! You can also see how all of these layers help to give this tag such unique texture and depth! It's just lovely! Here Gloria takes you on a guided tour of this terrific tag!
The Graphic 45 Staples collection contains wonderful products to work with! I used eight (8) different Staples. Can you find them all?
I used one of the new Regular Tag Album Staples for my tag base.
I created a flower with the Trim and Chipboard Button Staples.
I painted the Metal Butterfly Staples with white gesso, and then stamped over the top with French Country stamps. The butterfly's body is a Chipboard Button and Stamped Metal Brad Staples.
I clipped on some postage with a Metal Clothespins Staples. To make the word "timeless" stand out, I rubbed the pin with white gesso, and then I buffed it off. The gesso stayed in the impression, highlighting the text.
I tucked Ornate Metal Key Hole and Key Staples among the flowers.
And that is EIGHT Staples on one tag!
Supplies:
Graphic 45 Staples:
Graphic 45 papers:
French Country: Bon Appetit, Montage
Kraft Reflections: Glimpse of Paris, Elusive Wings
Olde Curiosity Shoppe: Optical Oddities
Curtain Call: Tour De France
Graphic 45 Stamps:
Ink: Clearsnap Colorbox Archival Wicked Black; Clearsnap Colorbox Chalk Creamy Brown, Dark Brown
Ribbon and twine: Really Reasonable Ribbon
Next up is this gorgeous card by Arlene Cuevas. She made this pretty card for her husband's birthday using Kraft Reflections and Graphic 45 Metal Staples. We love the wonderful masculine look of this clever card. You can see how marvelously Arlene layered the papers to give this card a wonderful sense of movement. All of the intricate patterns of Kraft Reflections make this card hypnotically beautiful, especially when layered so expertly! Get inspired to create your own multi-layered Graphic 45 card for a friend or loved one! It's guaranteed to please!
Here we have another brilliantly layered craft to share with you! This is a magnificent Place in Time altered 8x8 Matchbook Box by Tara Orr. Tara is the queen of creating gorgeous layers in her projects! You can see how beautiful all the floral embellishments and Place in Time chipboards look on the box cover. The box opens to reveal a romantic scene with lavish layers and soft colors. Stunning fussy cut butterflies and floral embellishments only amplify the amazing dimension of this altered box. This is yet another perfect example of the dazzling possibilities you have when you layer your Graphic 45 papers and embellishments!

Today was a huge thrill for me as a crafter. I love the layering, something I'm working on as an artist. I love each project and couldn't pick a favorite. I guess the hardest part for me with layering is I hate covering up all those pretty papers. I want to see how beautiful each one is. I just forget that layers are beautiful too. Thanks for a thrilling day.
