With the 4th of July just around the corner, we thought it would be fun to share some more beautiful ideas for 4th of July home decor! Here we have a marvelous altered box by Maria Cole. This is such a splendid way to add some pizazz to your 4th of July decorating! Follow along with Maria's fun and informative tutorial to create this festive box! Celebrate in style with Graphic 45! Take it away, Maria!

When I daydreamed ideas for my 4th of July project, I went straight to my Place In Time paper pads for inspiration! I love the beach theme on the July Cut Outs page and immediately thought of making a kite using both the 12” x 12” and 8” x 8” designs. I also wanted to use one of Graphic 45’s altered matchbook boxes for this project because they are such a great starting point for creativity! Most real-life kites have a hollow frame, so I ended up using just the lid for this project. It truly gives the matchbook box a more lightweight, airy feel—just like a real kite! To finish off my project, I made a tail of cascading chipboard pieces and even a quick little mini using a tag from my regular tag album. If you have some fishing line at home, you can display this in your craft room to look just like a real kite! Have fun and enjoy!
