And now it's time for some amazing layouts! We begin with this gorgeous LO by Karen. You can see how Karen uses open spaces in this LO to help make her photo the focal point. Fussy cut flowers mingle with flower embellishments to add gorgeous dimension and color. Let your holiday photos inspire you to create the perfect LOs with Graphic 45! Here is what Karen had to say about this amazing creation!
"It’s no secret that I love to fussy cut. The images in the 12 days of Christmas paper collection are begging to be cut out and layered. I have done this with the flowers in my layout. I have cut 2 each of the same image, layered them on top of each other, using foam tape, which gives them a lovely, 3D look. I always use a craft knife when fussy cutting, but make sure you have a really sharp blade, or you could tear the paper. Also, another great tip is to ink the edges of your fussy cut images with a distress ink, this helps to hide your imperfect cuts." -Karen
Next we have another incredible idea for holiday layouts. Here is Anne's 12 Days of Christmas 12x12 Matchbook Box. The Graphic 45 12x12 Matchbook Box is the perfect size for storing layouts. Here Anne created an exquisite work of art to house several holiday layouts. You can create a whole world of happy memories with a project like this! So if you've got tons of photos from this holiday and you're looking for their perfect way to save them for generations to come, consider creating a beautiful layout box like this one! Get inspired with Anne's amazing photos and tips! Take it away, Anne!
"Made these layouts to go in the 12 x 12 matchbox for a dear friend. Had so much fun working with this beautiful 12 Days of Christmas collection from Graphic 45. Only used the 12 x 12 papers and because of the layering. It is built up on medium weight chipboard and there is one side on the front and one on the back of the chipboard. All is distressed with white paint dabber and White Pan Pastel. All the fussy cut outs are covered with Claudine Hellmuth Multi Matte. Decorated a 12 x 12 matchbox to store them in and it also create a frame around the layouts. It can also be fun to make one LO each year and decorate the front with some more new papers for every new 12 Days of Christmas collection. Here is the matchbox without the drawer. Decorated with a lot of fussy cut flowers, cheese cloth, seam binding . Magnolia die cut out lamp post and Marianne design umbrella die cut out." -Anne
Layouts placed in the box.
Lot of layering here. On all the LOs I cut out one frame with the flowers on the edge and one with the plain frame. Layered with pop dots between each. Distressed all the edges with distress tool and scissor. Then I cut out some of the other left over flowers from the 2. frame and glued them on with pop dots.
Here you can see the layering on the layouts.
