Faber Castell & Graphic 45 Blog Hop: Day 3
It's Day 3 of our awesome Blog Hop with Faber-Castell! We are so excited to be hopping with this amazing company and their awesome designers. Today, Danielle Copley, Brit Sviggum, and Robin Shakoor have beautiful projects to share using Faber-Castell. The fun continues!
"This layout was a perfect way to “dip my toes” into the world of Mixed Media. I have always been fascinated with mixed media but intimidated by the gorgeous projects I have seen and the multitude of supplies that go into making one. This layout uses Faber Castell’s Whipped Spackle and Pastel Gelatos to add a touch of the mixed media world to my background design and with Graphic 45’s Gilded Lily, it was a great combination for trying something new!!
Tip #1: Find a project that inspires you and choose one or two new products or techniques from it that you admire and try them out!
Tip #2: I loved using the gelatos mixed with water and a paintbrush to color to some white mulberry paper flowers to coordinate with my project.
Tip #3: Added a little too much color to your project with gelatos or sprays? Tone it down by dry brushing on some gesso!" ~Danielle

Now, how about this amazing canvas by Robin? What a stunning project!
"I created a canvas using Faber-Castell Gelatos to create my background. I began by adding gelatos to my canvas in the areas where I wanted to add color. I then applied water to the Gelatos and rubbed in the color. I added additional water to create a series of soft drips. Once my background was created, I added loads of delicate layers to frame and accentuate my photo.
Tip: Use mediums to create a one-of-a-kind background. You can use stencils, fibers and various art mediums to add a special touch to your projects. Try experimenting on plain cardstock and save your techniques to create a journal you can refer to for future projects." ~Robin
