We have such fun projects today using Cityscapes. We love the creative ideas our designers come up with. Katie Zoey Ho has a whimsical idea inspired by a beloved book. Then, Maggi Harding shares her family history in a great layout. This will be an incredible wrap-up to this week!
First, see how Katie was inspired by Harry Potter for this great project!
"A fan-fiction derived project inspired from Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Express at Platform 9 ¾. With my love for coffee and Harry Potter, I fused these 2 together and created this suitcase with wheels - Coffee Express at Platform 9. While it looks rather magical on the outside, as you enter you’ll be welcome into a suite of modernized coffee cafe where mugglers hang out for a cup of good coffee. It’s practically the reverse where witches and wizards travel to have mugglers’ coffee. They still have to board the train at Platform 9 ¾ to head back to Hogwarts, and it’s just ¾ platform away from Platform 9..."~Katie

"How I love Graphic 45's new Cityscapes collection as I have so many photos that are screaming to be scraped with these papers. This is a photo of my parents taken shortly after my Dad returned from Paris and WW II and I chose to use the Eiffel Tower cut-apart for that reason. The city names all around the border represent many of the places that my family traveled with Dad and the stamp paper represents the many letters he wrote to my Mom when he was posted to places where she could not accompany him. I love it when I can include symbolism in my layouts that have special meaning to me.
In assembling this layout, I chose layers of blue and orange papers to contrast against each other. I inked all of my papers with Colorbox Graphic 45 Decades Photogenic ink to further the vintage look of the papers. Tip: Use the more subtle small print sides of the papers for some of your layers so that the patterns don't fight with each other." ~Maggi
