Canvas, Midnight Masquerade, Maggi Harding, Graphic 45 (3)

Creativity is contagious so we want to pass it on to you, our G45ers, today! Maggi Harding and Pam Bray share two fabulous projects inspired by quotes they love. This is perfect inspiration for our #Words2CraftBy Challenge! Look at this gorgeous canvas from Maggi:

Canvas, Midnight Masquerade, Maggi Harding, Graphic 45 (3)

"Today I'm sharing a canvas I made from the new Midnight Masquerade collection to hang in my studio. I love sharing my art with others and I hope that I inspire you, so I find this to be a perfect quote, "Creativity is Contagious, Pass it On."

I fussy cut a lot of pieces for this canvas and used a lot of foam to pop up the pieces.  Instead of using commercial flowers, I fussy cut some of the great flowers in this collection to use as embellishments." ~Maggi

Tip:  Pull out your Stickles and add some sparkle to your project.  Midnight Masquerade is the perfect collection for this.  I added little dabs of Stickles in the flower centers.  Too bad the camera doesn't pick up that sparkle but its there and it's a great subtle enhancement.

“'Every Moment You Create A Memory'….this is a motto that was laid on my heart when our son got married and was working all the time. I had to remind him that he was missing out on so many moments, so many memories because he was so busy making a living he forgot to make a life. A life filled with quiet times and times with his family and friends. Moments come and go quick but always remember they always will leave you with a memory!” ~Pam

A Brooch and Earrings with Graphic 45!

Jewelry Brooch, Steampank Debutante, by Elena Olinevich, product by Graphic45, photo2a

We love when our designers create unique projects with G45 - like gorgeous jewelry! Elena Olinevich and Alexandra Morein share amazing ideas including an altered jewelry box, brooch, earrings, and pendant. You will want to wear your Graphic 45 just like these amazing artists! Let's see Elena's brooch and box:

Jewelry Brooch, Steampank Debutante, by Elena Olinevich, product by Graphic45, photo2a

"I have discovered a world of jewelry for myself  not recently. Normally I do not wear any jewelry, but I adore wearing long earings. However I discovered the new jewelry designers and even made some purchases. Several years ago I tried making the beads jewelry, it was a relaxing process. Actually I have never thought of making something from the papers.

But you know what, it is such a fun idea to mix the materials and to create something unique.

Initially I didn’t know exactly what I would like to create, and even some brainstorming didn’t help. But I knew for sure that I need to use Steampunk Debutante for my project. I never had any jewelry of this style.

But then I stumbled on the image of a mannequin with the wings and it has been determined quite fast what I need to create.

I combined fabric and metal flowers in my brooch. I wanted to add a feminine touch to it as well.

However I always imagine that every jewelry piece needs to have a separate case for it.

So I made a box for my brooch from the ATC box.

I covered it with the DIY Craft Papers.

I am sharing some tips on how better to cover the box with the paper. You can check my video tutorial for them.

So what I would suggest to all crafters is to start thinking outside the box, and try to imagine what would made you to be a star and to has your own signature at the same time - jewelry, this is the answer."

We adore these clever and lovely paper earrings from Alexandra using Nature Sketchbook:

Paper Earrings, Nature Sketchbook, Project by Alexandra Morein, Product by Graphic 45, Photo 4

"Paper is a truly amazing and versatile product. We are used to create cards and mini albums with it, but today I want to share something different.

Being on the Graphic 45 design  team is very challenging and once I’ve read the assignment for the current month, I was worries that I cannot make it ☺ But then as usual, you start to work on various ideas in your head, and finally come up with something.

I got the inspiration for making these paper earring from the internet. The technique is pretty basic and very similar to quilling. You roll paper strips to form a circle and then you just push it out from the middle as far as you want, in order to get a desired shape.

In the same way and provided that you make you circles large enough, you can create bowls, fancy shaped boxes, unique party embellishments, home décor items and so on.

The cut outs that I used on the earring are really tiny, since the size of each earring is about 1 3/8” in height. The butterflies and the flowers from the Nature Sketchbook were perfect for this project.

I also managed to create a keychain from the tiny leftovers and a memory frame by Inkessentials." ~Alexandra

"Decide to Be Yourself" Album Idea

Beauty Easel Album, Portrait of a Lady, by Kathy Clement, Product by Graphic 45, Photo 2

We've already seen a few of you share your Portrait of a Lady projects on Facebook now that it's hitting stores. What gorgeous work! Today, Kathy Clement shares a swoon-worthy album that is a stunner on each and every page! Let's take a tour of this gorgeous project:

Beauty Easel Album, Portrait of a Lady, by Kathy Clement, Product by Graphic 45, Photo 1

"I have never seen a more beautiful paper collection than Graphic 45’s Portrait of A Lady.  I love every itty bitty detail from the color palette, to the printed patterns to the amazing images and even the typography.  I literally gasped out loud when I first laid eyes on it and could not wait to work it up into an album.

I wanted to make something that could showcase photos, but also wanted a format that would lend itself to display on a bookshelf, desk or side table.  That’s why I chose to work with the Graphic 45 Staples 8x8 Easel Album.  It stands all on its own, which is wonderful.  If I want to be inspired by a fresh view, I simply have to flip the page and there it is!

I also create the album to be “reversible”.  By that I mean it can be viewed from front to back or back to front as all pages are decorated on both sides.  I had such fun creating this jewel of an album, and I hope you enjoy viewing it as well." ~Kathy

Tip: To create paint spatters like the ones on the cover, do as follows:

    1. Cover the face of the image with a Post-It Note.
    2. Dilute a dime sized portion of acrylic paint with water.  Dip a paintbrush into the diluted paint.  Hold the paintbrush loosely as far back on the handle as you can.  With your dominant hand, tap the bristle end of the brush lightly to create spatters.  Move to another area, dip into the diluted paint again and repeat until you are satisfied with the results. Remove the post it from the face and let the paint dry on its own.

Tip: To create titles for your pages, use dies or freehand cut blocks of text from the typography pages in the collection.

Tip: Cover Kraft Staples Tags with designer paper to create fun, interactive photo mounts and journaling spots for your album.

Tip: Save time by fussy cutting and inking all your images before you begin designing your album.  This way you’ll have a pile of them on hand to use as needed.

Tip: To create unity in your album, use the same colors of matting cardstock and the same embellishments throughout.  All my pages are matted on pale pink and deep green cardstock.  I also used the die cut banners, doilies and fussy cut roses throughout the album.

February assigments Olga alterered quote tray communique and off the races (6)

"Its altered baking tray. All steps and mediums you may check out in Video. I love to re-use old stuff that other people may see as junk. Baking trays, old plates  and muffin trays can turn into very decorative objects. I love those Lion head staples. On the ring you can hang some trinkets to make it even more decorative and to add more elements to your work." ~Olga

Follow Your Butterflies Wall Frame, Botanicabella, Tutorial by Sandy Trefger, Product by Gralphic 45, Photo 001

"My assignment with Graphic 45 was to design a framed piece using my favorite quote.  I have many favorite quotes but I love butterflies and when I saw the quote “Follow Your Butterflies,” I knew it would be my favorite for this project.  There are lots of wonderful butterflies in so many of the Graphic 45 paper collections that it was hard to choose.  While I could have gone with a mix of all of them, I decided to focus on the beautiful Deluxe Collector’s Edition of Botanicabella. You could easily make this project with any of the wonderful Graphic 45 collections and I hope I’ve inspired you to take your favorite quote and create a beautiful wall frame.  Happy Crafting"! ~Sandy

Tip: While shopping, always look at frames that might work for a project such as this one.  You could do a desk framed piece, large wall frame or one like mine with several “photo” areas.  Any and all frames have potential for a beautiful project showcasing your favorite quote.  I found it easier to create the piece without the glass (save that as a possible cutting mat) and work in the fussy cut elements and embellishments with the backing in place on your frame.
