Beautiful Ideas for Tag Staples
There are so many beautiful projects on today's blog! Marina BlauKitchen and Kathy Clement really show off with our Tag Staples! They make the most incredible projects - you will love it! Let's jump into the fun:
"Love Tags because they are perfect to make a gift, a special complement for packaging and they can even substitute a card. I also love to hang them as a wall deco. This time I wanted to make a special box for them. I used DIY Craft paper to cover a box and beautiful Nature Sketchbook Collection to make the tags." ~Marina BlauKitchen
Tip: Use decoupage glue to fix DIY craft paper on the box and also on the surface of the paper for a more durable finished.

Now, Kathy shares a Mixed Media Steampunk masterpiece! What a gorgeous project:
"Three of my favorite words in the English language are Imagine, Inspire and Create. When Graphic 45 released their awesome Staples Square Tags with those very words laser cut into them, I was hooked. I decided to treat these tags to a day at the mixed media craft spa. My imagination and creativity took over and before I knew it, the tag project turned into a mini album filled with Steampunk images, colors and whimsy.
Paint, stencils, crackle paste, chipboard and embossing powders added all kinds of texture and steampunk vibe to this project. The tags function as the pages, and although there are only 3 tags, I added loads of fold outs, pockets and surprises to make for a really chunky, interactive album.
The Steampunk Debutante Deluxe Collector’s Edition filled me with inspiration, and I hope you’ll enjoy viewing this mixed media album as much as I enjoyed the process of creating it." ~Kathy

Tip: DIY papers are fabulous for mini album covers because you don’t have to piece papers together. To strengthen the area around the spine, I used iron on interfacing on the inside of the album cover where stress tears might occur in the wake of frequent use. The interfacing layer is covered by designer paper, so no one knows it is there except you. But the spine is protected, and that ‘s a good thing!
Tip: To create the dimensional wings on the album cover, I fussy cut around the wing area, leaving the background intact. Then I lifted the wings, shaped them with my fingers and glued just the wingtips to the album cover.
Tip: I covered everything on the cover with matte decoupage medium to strengthen and protect. While the wings were damp, I sprinkled them with a little glitter. The medium dries clear and holds the glitter in place.
Tip: Working with Mixed Media means you have to be patient. Paints, texture pastes and other mediums take considerable dry time. Build your cover, fussy cut paper images, create pockets and mini tags in between doing your “wet work.”
Tip: I used altered chipboard pieces to serve fun, funky pockets. Simply glue down the bottom edge, then tuck ATC tags between the chipboard and paper. It’s unexpected, and adds to the whimsy of the finished product.
Tip: Use flowers to add texture, color and dimension. I kept all my flowers in the same general color family to unite the design.
