Graphic 45 and Tattered Angels with Design Team Member Susan Lui

Today we have a beautiful lo by Susan, who is also on the Tattered Angels design team as well.  She is also providing us with instructions on how to achieve the look on her lo titled "Happy Trails".

Tutorial for Happy Trails:

If you thought Graphic 45's Christmas Past papers can only be used for Christmas layouts, think again. I used a mix of Christmas Past and Renaissance Faire papers to create this woodsy layout. Here are the steps to creating this layout.

List of material required:

Graphic 45 : Christmas Past papers - Letters to Santa, Glad Tidings and Deck the Halls; Renaissance Faire - Triumphant;

My Tattered Angels: Glimmer Mists in Olive Vine, Peach Delight, Suede, Candy Apple Red, and Flourish Glimmer Screens; Others: Rangers stickles, Prima flowers, a piece of corrugated cardboard and a border punch (if desired)

1. Lay out your flourish glimmer screens as shown and mist directly onto the Letters to Santa patterned paper using Olive Vine glimmer mist. This mist will show up beautifully as a shimmery gold/green image.

2. Outline the stencilled image using Rangers stickles.

3. Cut out a horizontal strip from the Triumphant patterned paper measuring 12x3 inches. Cut out two thinner strips from Deck the Halls. Punch out a border design along them, if desired. Lay them out as shown. The patterened paper may warp a little from the mist, but you can flatten it right out easily by placing it under some weight. As you will see in my final layout, the background paper has flattened out perfectly.

4. Take a piece of corrugated cardboard and tear it along the edges. To complement the beautiful Graphic 45 papers, I sprayed a mix of three glimmer mists on the cardboard: Peach Delight along the top, Suede in the middle and Candy Apple Red at the bottom.

5.    Cut two rectangles from Glad Tidings patterned paper to mat your photos, then lay them out on the corrugated cardboard and layout as shown below.

6.    Finally add your favourite embellishments and title, and you're done.

Thank you Susan for that wonderful tutorial!  Your lo is lovely!
