A Week Of Marvelous Mini Albums With Graphic 45!

Hello Fantastic G45ers!

Welcome to another fun week of craft inspiration at Graphic 45! We are delighted that you are joining us for this special occasion! This week is all about our love for mini albums! Our design team has created lots of gorgeous mini albums that are guaranteed to get you in the papercrafting spirit! And now it's time for some beautiful minis! This first mini was created by Jane Tregenza and features our adorable Little Darlings collection. You are going to love all of the sweet little details on every page of this mini! Here is what Jane had to say about her creative process!

"I love the new range of baby paper from Graphic 45. It’s been a long time since I have seen baby paper this beautiful. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to make a mini book and a box to keep it safe, as it will be
quite a few years  until I am a grandmother! I used a teddy caddy box from Imaginarium Designs which I covered in Little Darlings papers. I had a knob left over from another project so I rubbed some white paint on it to match the box. The knob is one of Graphic 45’s Geometric Metal Door plate and knobs. I love the largess of these knobs and use them all the time. The Tim Holtz feet perfect for lifting the box up." -Jane Tregenza

"The book is made using one of Graphic 45’s Kraft Envelope Albums. I used three different shades of cardstock to make the foundation pages. I then added the print papers with layers of strips of cardstock and more print papers. I have room to add more photos or words when I need to. Each of these pages would make lovely cards if you are a card maker." -Jane tregenza

Next up is this classic layout by Nancy Wethington using A Proper Gentleman. This would make a perfect Father's Day gift! Nancy even included some fabulous tips for recreating this gorgeous mini! Get ready for some exceptional inspiration! Take it away, Nancy!

Like many other homes in the U.S., Father's Day means pictures of Dad's with their kids or spending the day enjoying their hobbies.  This is a 6" x 12" mini that's ready for Father's Day photos of my husband and son.

 

The entire album makes use of Graphic 45's A Proper Gentleman Collection.  The base of the album is chipboard covered with Man About Town. I then cut two images from A Proper Gentleman: the two men in the antique car and the collection of tickets and postcards.  The car image as well as the man's foot were grounded by using a border strip from the same paper.  The car image was popped up with chipboard while the tickets/postcards were kept flat on the front of the cover.

I next used the largest pocket watch from Timely Point of View.  After cutting out and adhering the image to the front cover, I added an ornate metal door knob from the Graphic 45 Staples collection as well as a metal button from the same collection.  The two were joined with an Idea-ology swivel clasp to resemble a pocket watch.  Two tags from A Proper Gentleman collection were used to embellish the swivel clasp and the top of the pocket watch.  To give the tags a bit more stability, they were covered with Idea-ology fragments.

 

Wanting to try something a bit different (at least for me), I used 12x12 papers folded in half to create 1 6"x12" layout that opens to a 12"x12" layout.  Both sides were decorated so that I can easily fit 10 photos on one 12" x 12" piece of paper as follows:

 

6" x 12" = 3 photos each measuring 3" x 3" + 2 tags that will also hold the same size photos.  That means this front page will hold up to 5 photos.

Open that to reveal a 12" x 12" page that will hold two 4" x 6" photos + two 2" x 2" photos = 4 more photos total.

 

Fold that page closed and you will still have the back of the page (measuring 6" x 12") that will carry at least two more photos!

The first page is decorated to illustrate what my plans are with this mini.  It is held together with a small Idea-ology clip.  The second page shown is held together with a sliding band made from A Proper Gentleman die-cut border and Graphic 45 Staples ribbon.  Simply slide the band off the page to reveal the inside.

Since I bound this myself, I was able to add extras in between the 6" x 12" pages.  My *extras* were Graphic 45 Kraft Envelopes and Graphic 45 Black Policy Envelopes that will hold even more photos!

I love the closures on each of tge albums. Very classy! (the weathered box knob & the clock center attachment, very original) I love that the first album transformed into a star! & the 12x12 hidden paper in the second. Both albums had their own excellent creative flair, very nice.
