Next up is this fantastic work of altered art by Nancy Wethington. This is another terrific handmade gift idea! Altered art is a great way to bring new life to an ordinary object. It is also a fabulous way to create a pretty and personalized gift for someone you love. This altered book cover by Nancy is a wonderful example of this! You can create altered art out of so many things and it is always so much fun. Just imagine what you could create! Here is a fun tip from Nancy about how she made this joyful little treasure.

"When decorating with clear acrylic, the trick is to decorate the back first and then the front.  Communique paper was first adhered to the back of the front cover and then the embellishments were adhered to the front.  It really gives a lot of dimension to a piece." -Nancy Wethington

wow! Love the layout for the family pictures. I can see several of my old pictures in that design. Thanks for sharing

I love mini albums as a handmade gift, because you can make one for each occasion there is..birthday, anniversary, just for fun... and it's just something very individual and from the heart!

My favorite gift was a memorial album for a friend with photos of his partner. It probably contained my best work because of all the love I put into it.

I'd be thrilled to win this. One of my mom's favorite handmade gifts from me was a recording of us girls singing her favorite songs. Sue

I love the Graphic 45 papers and would love to make an altered art book in a box. Your blog is fantastic with so many creative artists. Keep up the wonderful work.

I found the cutest website with magnet necklaces for mom and daughter. I just bought a set for daughter Becky and me to wear on mom’s day! That will be fun. They have these red hearts with plastic ladybugs glued on them. They are held to the necklace with magnets. Loved the design. Well, happy mother’s day to all the moms. www.britebuttonz.com

I'm making vanilla extract and decorating the bottles for Mother's day.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!! I LOVE the Romantique Kraft box -- so lovely!!

Amazing projects! G45 papers just bring out the most awesome creativity in crafters.

A couple of years ago, my daughter (in fourth grade then, made her father a small chipboard album for father's day. She picked the pictures (mostly of her and dad), designed the cover, chose papers and embellishments and put it together all by herself. It turned out beautifully and was a really special gift from her to her daddy.

I really love making albums for the people I care about. It's all about the personal touches regarding that person that makes them special.....and it sure makes them happy!

Love all the wonderful projects!...I love doing altered art projects for gifts

Love, love, love your new collection!
