And now it's time for some wonderful tips for creating beautiful Halloween cards! Cards are so much fun to make. They can be nice and simple or fancy and elaborate. Either way they're garunteed to brighten someone's day. Here we have two gorgeous Halloween cards. One is simple and lovely, while the other is also stunning and has a little more detail. Both can be made using the same sketch and most of the same materials. Grab your papers and get ready for fun! Here is Gloria's first simple card and sketch. Take it away, Gloria!
"Using products from the same collection make projects come together in a snap! For this simple card, I used paper from the Happy Haunting 8x8 paper pad. The small-scale prints are perfect for card making. I combined the paper with Happy Haunting chipboard and stamps to create a 10-minute card." -Gloria Stengel
Supplies:
Graphic 45 paper: Happy Haunting 8x8 paper pad
Graphic 45 chipboard: Happy Haunting
Graphic 45 stamps: Happy Haunting
Cardstock - American Crafts Black, Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon Halloween Geometric Print on Black Grosgrain, Black Satin; May Arts 1/4" Black Silk
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Adhesive: Scotch 3M tape runner, Aileen's Tacky Glue
Are you ready to take your simple Halloween card to the next level? Here is another gorgeous card by Gloria that uses that same simple sketch. Gloria just added a little bit more pizazz to create this adorable card. It takes a little bit more time to make but it is totally worth it! Follow along with Gloria to create this super sweet Trick or Treat card! Take it away, Gloria!
I showed you how to make a 10-minute card by using products from the same collection. If you have more time, and you have a lot of various Halloween stamps and embellishments in your stash, you can "step it up" and make a 45-minute card.
Both cards have the same basic design, but I flipped the vertical panel to the right and added more embellishments. To create visual interest in the "stepped up" card, I cut a fence (Taylored Expressions Picket Fence Border die) and some tree branches (Spellbinders Cherry Blossoms die) and inked them with chalk ink before attaching them to the card.
Instead of using pre-made chipboard for the image, I stamped and colored an image with Copic markers. Once the image was colored, I trimmed it into a circle shape. I used Spellbinders dies to cut a circle and then cut a decorative circle to mat my image.
I used one of the Happy Haunting chipboard clocks, and tied three strands of various colored twine to the center. I added a strip of ribbon and a die cut sentiment.
I folded the ribbon over and cut one end into a banner shape.
I used stamps to decorate the inside of the card.
It is easy to take the same basic card design and create a completely different look, just by changing your image, embellishments, and sentiment.
Supplies:
Graphic 45 paper: Happy Haunting 8x8 pad
Graphic 45 chipboard: Happy Haunting
Cardstock: American Crafts Black, Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla, Copic white
Other stamps: Stampin' Up! Greeting Card Kids; Hero Arts Happy Halloween; Hampton Art Stamps Boo
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon Apple Shimmer Satin, Twine (orange, green apple, black licorice)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Clearsnap Colorbox Fluid Chalk Gray Whale
Die cuts: Spellbinders Standard Circles Large, Classic Inverted Scallop Circles Large, Cherry Blossoms; Taylored Expressions Picket Fence Border; Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Banners
Adhesive: Scotch 3M tape runner, Ranger Glossy Accents, Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L foam squares

Such great projects. I have just one question. How do you mail the card with the tree limb hanging out beyond the envelope? I would hate to have to fold the limb over to get it to fit. hahaha

I love to see more ways to layer this paper and make some cards. I especially love that the inside was decorated and shown. I always need tip for that part!

Great Halloween inspirations thank you!!!

Hello Karen Wedding, this answer is for you from Gloria: "If my card is a bit lumpy or hangs over the edge, I use a bit larger envelope and pad with some cardstock or bubble wrap. However, this does cost more to mail. If I want to use a regular size envelope, I modify the card a bit so that nothing hangs over the edge, plus I can always make the card a bit less "lumpy."" Thanks for following the blog! Happy Papercrafting!
