Next we have some fantastic inspiration from Sharon Ngoo of our design team! This stunning project features An ABC Primer and our new 12x12 Matchbook Box! This is the first project we've featured on our blog that highlights these fabulous new Matchbook Boxes! We are so excited! Sharon combined the adorable schoolhouse charm of An ABC Primer with the versatility of our new 12x12 Matchbook Box to create a fabulous keepsake box for kids! Here Sharon takes you on a tour of this fantastic creation as she gives some helpful tips for creating one of your very own. Take it away, Sharon!

If your kids are like mine, they probably pick up and collect little bits and bobs that they keep...little things that they think are precious but don't quite know what to do with. If so, a little trinket drawer like this might be a fun way to collect and display the little treasures of childhood.

I used the awesome ABC Primer collection because I think the images really capture the sense of childhood nostalgia.

And I decided to label my little sections alphabetically in keeping with the theme of the paper....(not that I think the kids will sort their treasures alphabetically...but hey, you never know right? and it might be fun)....a fun notion at first until you realise that 26 is not a fun number to work with....quite a bit of (painful) math was involved.

I made each compartment out of paper and assembled them all together inside the 12X12" matchbook box (with MANY adjustments needed and many gaps that I decided not to bother about...haha).  And added metal door pulls on both ends so the drawer slides out easier :

And here are some little ideas to share from this project:

1.  Did you know that the Graphic45 ABC Primer chipboard shapes assemble to form a cute grandfather clock?

2.  And its probably a good idea to glue a piece of clear plastic in the 'window' to protect all the little tiny treasures inside - I left mine out because it photographs better but will definitely be putting it in later.

3.  You could also use this to display photos as well with labels like...."A, you're adorable, B, you're so beautiful...."....do you know the song? ;)
And here are the supplies I used:

1.  An ABC Primer 12x12 Paper Pads (I used at least one sheet of every design if not more!)
1.  ribbon - May arts and Creative Impressions
2.  red cardstock - Bazzill
3.  stickers - 7 gypsies
4.  brads
5.  old storybook paper - my own
And here we have a sneak peek of the gorgeous Graphic 45 project you can see today on Liz Hicks' blog! Hop on over to her blog to see the full project. Be sure to leave a comment while you're there for your chance to win the fabulous Tropical Travelogue prize pack!
