And now it's time for some serious altered art inspiration! First up is this gorgeous Happy Haunting altered 12x12 Matchbook Box by Denise Hahn. This is a splendid use of the new Graphic 45 12x12 Matchbook Box! You can see all of the superb multi-layered details that give this piece such wonderful dimension. It even lights up! It's a true Halloween dream! Here is what Denise had to say about the inspiration behind this spooktacular work of art! She even gives helpful tips for creating one of your very own!

Matchbook-Boxes

"I couldn't wait to get my hands on the new Matchbook Boxes. I LOVE making shadow boxes and these take a lot of the work out of creating the base. To make it extra spooky I added 6 little flicker battery operated tea lights. I attached them on the inside with some velcro strips for easy removal to turn them on and off. I decided I wanted to use this one on my front door instead of a Halloween wreath, so at the last minute I added "Welcome" (you can see the addition using G45 Die Cut Alphabet in the second photo). I wanted to incorporate some of the new G45 Staples Metal Door pulls and used them as decorative corners. A great tip for adding color to your box; I used the new Stephanie Barnard Sprays from Clearsnap in Tangerine. Just a little spritz then I smeared with my hand, 2 sprays covered a whole side, so a little went a long way. I can not believe how great this worked and how rich the color came out!" -Denise Hahn

Next we have a beautiful Bird Song altered art box by Alberto Juarez. This box contains a special surprise, an even smaller altered art box! That's right, it's a box within a box! Just imagine how delightful it would be to give this as a gift! You can see how perfectly the Bird Song papers blend together in this enchanting piece. Plus you can see a fabulous use of the new Graphic 45 Ornate Metal Key Hole Staples! Altered Art boxes are so much fun to make and have so many great uses! Here is what Alberto had to say about this fantastic work of art!

"This project is a double gift box. One is a wooden box decorated on the outside and inside. The other is a small box in which you can put a small gift like a jewel or something very special. This is a good idea when you want to turn a small but special gift into something bigger and colorful." -Alberto Juarez

Love the boxes today those are sick (the good kind). Making boxes has to be my favorite thing to do. These turned out really great. I can't wait to finish the two I'm working on right now, Ladies Diary and Bird Song. I seem to go back and forth between the two this week. I would love to get my hands on some matchboxes though.

lovely projects today!!

Stunningly beautiful!

Lots of fun ideas here. I have never seen a pumpkin decorated like that. Most of the time people incorporate carvings in their work so seeing something that is mainly about the outside of a largely untouched fruit is new.

The bird song altered box is also interesting. I would appreciate a gift like that and can only imagine that anyone who received this one would treasure it.
