February Calendar Page Tutorial:

Step 1: Select the papers you’ll be working with. For my Place in Time February calendar page, I used February Foundation, February Cut-Aparts, Calendar Foundation and Sentiments. The page you see here are the February Cut-Aparts.

Step 2: Cut out various images from the papers that you will use to accent and layer onto your calendar page.

Step 3: I cut out the postage stamps from February Cut-Aparts, then used a 1/8” hole punch to punch around the edge.

This is the look that you get when you use a hole punch to cut out your postage stamp from the Graphic 45 collections… cool, right?!

Step 4: Cut out elements from the Sentiments sheet to layer onto your calendar page.

Step 5: Take some chipboard pieces from the coordinating Place in Time Chipboard Die-cuts 2 set to accent your page.

Step 6: Start to slowly pull the page together, using the February Foundation page as your background or base. I use my 3M ATG gun to adhere basic paper elements to the page such as this border…

Use the border strip to accent the bottom of your page, like this… it adds a nice “pop” of red to pull the page together.

Step 7: I use Tombo Mono Adhesive to adhere a heart doily to my calendar page… this will be one layer of many.

Press the doily firmly onto the page to adhere all the edges down.

Step 8: Start to position the elements onto the page so you know where you want things to go. I typically don’t adhere anything down until I know exactly where on the page I’d like it to go.

Use dimensionals to make some of the elements on the page “pop.”

Layer away!

Step 9: Add some additional elements to the calendar page using the coordinating Chipboard Die-Cuts 1 set. Here I select the vintage lady…

Step 11: Use the Place in Time coordinating Alpha sticker sheet to add the year “2013” to your calendar…

 

Tip: Use a ruler or straight edge to line up your stickers before laying down on your page. This helps keep the letters/numbers straight.

Step 12: Add some lace to add a touch of daintiness and softness to the page.

To adhere the lace to the page, I opted to use my Surebonder fine-tip glue gun. This type of adhesive holds elements to a scrapbook page nicely, but you have to be quick since the hot glue dries super fast! Make sure the glue is extra hot when you apply the lace.

Step 13: Add another layer of lace to add dimension…

Step 14: Add Graphic 45 metal Staples to the page to add some interest. Here I’m applying a metal hinge to a spot on the page you wouldn’t think makes sense… but it works!

Step 15: Use Glossy Accents or a strong adhesive to adhere metal elements to your page. Here I am using Glossy Accents to adhere a Stamped Metal brad to the calendar page.

Step 16: Add flowers to your calendar page. Here I’m adding some vintage red Darjeelings by Petaloo.

Arrange the flowers on your page like this…
