April is a lovely time of the year when all the little animals wake up from their wintery slumber, birds charm us with their cheerful songs, the greens on the trees are fresh and bright, spring is in the air, and we almost always celebrate Easter. These are the thoughts that inspired my 12 x 12 layout.
I used the 12 x 12 April Foundation paper, Calendar Foundation paper and April Cut Apart sheet, the Place in time Stickers and Alphabet sheets, the kraft card stock paper from the Graphic 45 Signature Series ColorCore Card stock collection and an oddment of Enchanted Forrest paper from the Once Upon a Springtime collection.
All paper edges were inked with vintage photo distress ink before being stuck down.
To make this page
yourself take the 12 x 12 April Foundation paper, and with the reverse side
without wording facing you carefully cut around the outer edge of the border.
Cut a piece of kraft card stock 5” x 8”. Put double sided tape along the shorter top and bottom edges only and stick to foundation sheet centering 1” from the top edge, and 3 ¼” in from the side edges.
Cut out the small April
calendar from the 12 x12 Calendar Foundation paper, and the post card from the
April Cut Apart sheet. Stick the
calendar centrally on the green stripe side of the postcard and then using the
stripes for guidance trim ¼” off each of the shorter sides. Stick down onto the
kraft mat with ¼” border along the sides and top edge. Then stick the dark
brown Place in Time file tab to the left side of the calendar piece.
Next cut out the blue
spotty section from the cut apart sheet and trim the width to 11 ¼”. Make two pencil marks on each side of the
foundation page 6 ¾” up from the bottom corners. Use these marks to line up the top edge of
the blue border and stick down to the foundation paper.
Now cut apart the picture
of the two ladies as shown and cut off the blue border from the top left
section of the cut apart. Cut a second
piece of kraft card stock 8” x 5 ½”, and ticket cut the corners.
With the longer edges of
the kraft card stock mat at the top and bottom take the top left part of the cut
apart picture (script background)) and stick it under the top left corner of
the kraft card stock with ½” border top and left showing. Take the ladies and stick them down over the
bottom right corner of the kraft card stock mat with the same width of border to
the bottom and right.
On
the reverse of the kraft card stock mat piece put double sided tape down the
left and bottom edges and stick down to the foundation page centrally and ½” up
from the bottom of the page.
Next cut out the Hippity
Hoppity border strip from the cut apart sheet and two chipboard bunnies and
bows from the mover and shapers mini bunny & bow set. Cover the bows in a little contrasting
glitter and leave to dry. With the
bunnies facing each other ink them with Dylusions melted chocolate ink
spray. Leave to dry. When dry darken their backs with Distress
Walnut Stain ink. Stick a glittery bow onto each bunny. Now take the border strip, put double-sided
tape on the reverse side and stick down to the foundation page centrally under the
calendar, and over the top of the top edge of the blue border.
Stick a bunny over each end of the Hippity
Hoppity strip.
Cut the following pieces
out from the cut apart sheet, blue flower boy, Bellflower stamp, cream label.
I also cut out two fairies from Enchanted Forrest paper from the Once Upon a Springtime collection. Using the small letter stickers spell out “Make a note” and stick the words onto the label. Tie a ribbon bow through the hole on the label and stick all pieces down onto the left hand edge of the foundation page as shown in the picture below. Add the top of a metal brad over the April stamp to finish.
To finish the right hand
side of your page cut out another of the stamps, I used the tulip one. Peel of
the boy in blue sticker and put a strip of foam tape on the back. Position as per the picture and stick in
place.
Now cut out the blue “No
mater how long the winter…….. “border, put foam tape on the back, remove the
backing strip and stick down one inch in from the right hand edge of the
foundation and along the top edge of the border on the foundation page.
Next, take the large
letter stickers, spell out the word April and stick together to form an arched
phrase. Stick down onto the kraft card stock next to the bluebell boy and just
about the blue border you’ve just added.
To finish off your page spray two imaginarium chipboard butterflies with Ocean Sunlight Cosmic Shimmer Mist. Put a little tacky glue on the wings and sprinkle over some contrasting glitter. When dry, stick one butterfly to either side of the bottom section of your layout.
Add two of the corner
stickers from the sticker sheet to the top left and bottom right hand corners
of the calendar cut apart at the top of your layout and then colour an
imaginarium flourish with the same Dylusions ink spray as the bunnies and when
dry stick centrally above the calendar cut apart. Add a gem for decoration.
Add two paper clips to the notice board section of the layout to hold messages/appointment cards. There’s also a place behind the top right hand side of the noticeboard to slot notes or maybe a to do list.
Now put double sided tape
on the back of your finished calendar page and stick to page four of your 12 x
12 calendar.
I hope you have as much fun putting this page together as I did and enjoy the rest of the layouts from my teamies.

I am not seeing this... sorry, but I use a calender every day several times for work and I am making them to be used ...10 of them as gifts. I am making them for two years service costing me about 15 dollars a piece but they will last 2 years and to me that is a great gift. Maybe the line was not meant to make a calender like I am constructing. but they are all creative that you are posting.
