First up is this darling 8x8 LO by Arlene Cuevas featuring An ABC Primer! Here Arlene gives some great tips for how she created this heartwarming and beautiful work of art!
"When you have kids and very little time to yourself, you often find it challenging to get some pages created for your scrapbook. For me, the challenge is being a little "too" detailed with my scrapbook pages sometimes! So it's quite refreshing to take a break from the distressing, painting, and multiple layers. With this 8x8 scrapbook page, I decided to keep things very simple and let "An ABC Primer" papers and Metal Staples do all the work! You can create simple layers by using cardstock, like I did on this page. The black cardstock really makes the papers pop and the layers really define the elements on the page. I tend to keep my embellishments either vertical or horizontal on simple pages. This keeps the eye leveled-out when looking at the page. I love the look of the metal Staples. I really wanted to incorporate the "Remember" clothespin onto the page without clamping it off to the side. So I disassembled the clothespin and just used 1 piece of it. I glued it flat onto the page, then added an ornate key in the "groove." Kind of a neat look, right? Creating a scrapbook page like this took me approximately 1 hour. Can you imagine how many scrapbook pages you can accomplish in 1 day?! So get cracking on that scrapbook that you've been putting off! I hope you give one of these simple layouts a try today." ~Arlene Cuevas
