First up we have this incredible Secret Garden mixed media canvas by Sharon Ngoo. This superb canvas is just perfect for springtime home decor or darling handmade gift! The cheerful colors of Secret Garden bring life to this joyful creation! We also love how Sharon altered the Graphic 45 Ornate Metal Door Plate and Knob Staples to add elegance and dimension to this dazzling work of art! Sharon even gives some fun tips on how she created this mixed media marvel!
Graphic 45 papers are great for working with mixed media because
there are lovely images to work with as well as awesome simpler patterns
that make it easy to match whatever colour scheme I am working on. In
this case, its a blue / yellow / lime green canvas.
.
And the beautiful flower and foliage prints are
great for fussy cutting to create texture - which always looks great
with mixed media:
.
And the awesome lettering stickers and chipboards with words are great for adding words for the finishing touch.

I love the new Staples Tag Albums and made this one using five
tags, lavender papers from the new 6 x 6 Patterns and Solids
papers, flowers tags and banners that compliment the Secret Garden paper
collection and some of the pretty stamps
I started off by inking the edges of on both sides
of each tag with Vintage photo ink and then using the tag as a template
cut out 6 lavender mattes from the new patterns and solids paper pad. I
also cut out 4 mattes from cream card to give some space in the album
for journalling.
I used two chip board pieces on the front cover,
blinged up the frame with a little lavender art glitter and then mounted
them both over lavender and cream mattes stamped with the gorgeous lily
of the valley stamp. I added a little cream art glitter to the lily of
the valley flowers on the stamp for a little bit of sparkle. Two
butterflies and some petaloo flowers finish off the cover.
I bound the album ring with vintage
seam binding inked with milled lavender distress ink and added three
chipboard pieces and three Connie's crystals to a chain to make the
charms.
Then I built up the pages using
the banners, pockets, tags, flowers and stickers from the collection and
stamping the images on the journalling pages with eggplant Adirondak
ink to make this cute little album in spring colours
