Pocket scrapbooking is a hot new trend in the crafting world right now. Here is an amazing creation by Maria Cole that is inspired by our recent Photo Freedom collaboration with Echo Park! Here Maria explains how she got the ideas for this breathtaking LO and also includes some fun tips for creating one of your very own! Take it away, Maria!
"When I first saw Graphic 45’s announcement of their partnership with Echo Park, I jumped up and down! I love the idea of pocket scrapbooking and just had to try it out recently on some of G45’s current paper lines. I went for the obvious June pages from Place In Time, but, being the paper mixer and hoarder that I am, I sprinkled in some Ladies Diary and Secret Garden scraps to liven things up. As Graphic 45 is beautifully showcased by layering and fussy cutting, you may be wondering how to preserve the dimensional, off-the-page feel of Graphic 45 paper in a pocket scrapbooking environment. What I did was place some embellishments underneath the pockets and place others, like my fashionable lady and key image chipboard tags, on top of the sleeves. Another dimensional piece that I added were some flowers that I made using Core’dinations paper and two of my favorite Spellbinders dies. The last thing I’d like to share about this project is the banner that I created. I love Graphic 45’s flag shapes but because there aren’t any for Place In Time, I made some of my own by tracing some Secret Garden flags onto my Place In Time and Core’dinations scraps. Voila – instant flags in classic G45 style!" -Maria
