Fun In The Sun With Layouts
Hello G45ers,
To quote Helen Keller, "So long as the memory of certain beloved friends lives in my heart, I shall say that life is good." This beautiful phrase is such a perfect summation of how it feels to reflect upon life's happy moments while creating art. We are reminded of how lucky we are to have such wonderful people in our lives. Creating layouts is a perfect way to participate in this joyful contemplation. Today we are going to share four gorgeous ideas for layouts that are sure to inspire you. These gorgeous crafts feature our two amazing new collections Bohemian Bazaar and Steampunk Spells. You'll see a wide range of ideas and techniques that are sure to get your creative gears turning! So lets get started!
First up is this jubilant Bohemian Bazaar LO by Alberto Juarez! This incredible creation displays so much depth and dimension. Alberto used the Bohemian Bazaar papers and Chipboard Die-Cuts to create stunning 3-D flowers. This LO is so captivating with its vivid colors and hypnotic designs. We also love Alberto's use of open spaces in this LO that help make the central image the primary focal point. This is such an amazing Bohemian Bazaar creation!

Next we have another sublime Bohemian Bazaar layout! This one was created by Clare Charvill and it also displays some gorgeous dimension! You can see how Clare layered and distressed the beautiful Bohemian Bazaar papers to give this LO a quaint vintage look. Then she added some fussy cut elements, Chipboard Die-Cuts and Stickers to give this LO extra beauty. This is a perfect example of how you can take a wonderful photo of a friend or family member and turn it into an unforgettable treasure that will last a lifetime! Here Clare explains how she created this heartwarming LO!
"I had great fun building up this layout round this picture of my sister. Its one of my favourites, and goes so well with the vibrant colours in the Bohemian Bazaar paper collection. I wanted the flowers to pop out of the page and follow the lines of the palms in the background so used two or three layers of foam tape behind the tag to lift it and then followed the line using pop dots to raise up the other elements. The brick effect on the paper was added using weathered wood distress ink and a brick wall mask placed randomly over the paper. There’s lots of layering through the layout combining all the colours in the collection which all work really well together. Alternate alpha stickers are raised up on foam tape to finish off the lay out. Love it. " - Clare

12 x 12 papers
May Arts Ribbon & Twine
Cor’dinations Lights – green paper
Tattered Floral Die for yellow flower
Sizzix Decorative Accent with flower Die

Brick Wall Mask – That Special Touch of …….
Next we are going to explore some gorgeous and fun ideas for Steampunk Spells layouts. We begin with this lavishly layered LO by Maria Cole. Just look at how perfectly all of the Steampunk Spells papers blend together! Maria created so much amazing dimension with lots of pretty papers, fussy cut elements, Chipboard Die-Cuts and flower embellishments. The result is this wonderfully whimsical work of art! Here Maria explains her inspiration behind this magical LO.
"I LOVE Steampunk Spells! The designs and imagery are simply the best for scrapbooking all of your Halloween photos. Unfortunately, I’m one of those boring people who stopped dressing up for Halloween ages ago, so I had to get creative in my search for the perfect photos to scrap. I remembered a trip my husband and I took to Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington several years ago. Even though this is a beautiful resort and nothing like a haunted house, I still thought it would be fun to pretend as if we were having fun at a spooky inn. I fussy cut the insides from two Vintage Voyage photo mats to create photo frames, which prompted my idea to have a “steampunk photo booth” feel by applying some of the images from Mechanical Marvels. The final touch to my layout is a flower I assembled using the matching Flowers and Banners"-Maria

Here is another incredible LO featuring Steampunk Spells. This adorable creation was made by Romy Veul and it displays more gorgeous paper layering and paper distressing techniques. The precious central photo sets the tone for this enchanting LO, as fussy cut elements and lovely borders add pure enchantment. This is the perfect way to immortalize your most precious memories! Here is what Romy had to say about this sweet creation.
"The Steampunk Debutante collection is one of my all time favourites and I was really excited to see a new steampunk collection. The first minute I saw the Steampunk Spells collection, I immediately knew that I just had to cut out the gears from the “Clockworks” sheet. I positioned them on the background paper to create a frame form photo. I also incorporated some fussy cut hot-air balloons, butterflies and flowers to finish off my lay-out." -Romy
Supplies:
Patterned papers: Fanciful Flora, Clockworks, Vintage Voyage, Witching Hour, Pumpkin Power
We hope you all had a lot of fun exploring today's lovely layouts. We hope you got inspired to create your own sentimental work of art to commemorate your favorite memories! Huge thanks to Alberto, Clare, Maria and Romy for their gorgeous work today! We hope to see all of you G45ers tomorrow for more splendid inspiration! Thank you so much for joining us! We wish you all a happy, crafty day!

I love the diversity of the showcased artists. I must admit, I am obsessed with the beauty of the LO presented by Alberto Juarez! I love how he was able to use one of my favorite paper collections in such an unexpected application. Immediately, I was reminded of the work of Peter Max, the artist from the '70's who was the modern day, abstract master of color play and imagery. In Alberto's piece, the shaded mask felt as though it was a modern interpretation of the art celebrating, Dio Los Muertos. Absolutely beautiful!!
Thank you so much team Graphic 45 for providing such wonderful inspiration. You must be so proud to see your collections transformed in the loving and creative hands of your loyal and growing following.
Like I told you in a letter that I shared with you earlier this year, I feel so blessed to be able to have the chance to escape into the beautiful world of Graphic 45! On difficult days, it continues to be my refuge and my 'Happy Place'!
