Next we have a very sweet craft by Clare Charvill. This is a gorgeous altered tray, journal and handmade tea cup! This trio of crafts definitely captures the opulent splendor of French Country. You can see how amazing French Country altered art can be! So if you've got an old tray in your house, or a blank journal, turn them into splendid treasures with French Country! These are basic items that you can also find at thrift stores or garage sales! Altered art like this is also an inexpensive way to create a heartwarming and beautiful gift! Follow along with Clare's simple instructions to create these adorable items for someone you love! Take it away, Clare!

Ever the practical crafter I thought I'd alter a small tray and make a fancy tea cup and saucer and journal book to go with.  Of course the tea cup is not practical :-) but the book is, with loads of pages to doodle and journal in.

I took a blank MDF tray, painted it with inky pool paint and then covered it with a combination of 12 x 12 Abundance and Deja Vu papers. I love the way these papers go together and the fresh yellows.  I added a design made up from the new pop outs that come with this collection to each side of the dray for a little detail.

The tea cup is made using a template (details below) and 12 x 12 Provance paper.  I lined it with the cream paper that comes at the back of the 12 x 12 pad and stamped out the grape image with Chipped Safire distress ink.

The vintage journal is made from chipboard and A5 cream card.  I used the Co Ordinations Graphic 45 paper in the inky blue, distressed it with a mask before covering the book cover. then I ran around the edges with a nail file for an extra distressed look. I took some of the chipboard pieces, alpha stickers, new banners, stamped metal buttons and a staples metal plate for the cover detail.  This little book really does look like its been around for years.

Get inspired to create your own beautiful altered boxes with French Country! You can also see Miranda's fabulous use of Graphic 45 Metal Staples! You can have so much fun letting your imagination run wild while you create a special treasure that will last a lifetime! Here is what Miranda had to say about this exquisite work of art!

"This project is quite special, being as its the first thing I made with my G45 DT package. As soon as I saw the French Country line in person i fell in love! I had these nested circle boxes and this line was perfect for them! I used lots of the French Country Patterns and Solids. I made it to where it was fully decorated but still fully functional. Each box pulls apart and opens up. These make wonderful home decor pieces!" -Miranda
