And now it's time for our pastel celebration! We begin with this gorgeous mixed media canvas by Miranda that features our Secret Garden collection and lots of gorgeous embellishments. This creation is just perfect for stylish home decor or as a fabulous gift! Just look at those gorgeous, soft colors! Mixed media is such a fun way to create! You can see the awe-inspiring results when you let your imagination run wild with Graphic 45 pastel papers! Here is what Miranda had to say about this amazing work of art!
"I have to admit, I have a deep affection for all things mixed media! Some people think of mixed media as being crazy colors and things of that nature. But you can interpret it anyway you like to suit your style! I wanted this to be soft and romantic but full of fun textures! These 6x6 canvases are so fun to alter! I used Imaginarium hexagon chippies as a stencil to cut into my canvas. It adds so much dimension! I glued elements to some acetate and adhered it to the back so when you peek in its very pretty J I also fussy cut from the Leafy Treetops and added them inside the canvas too. The outside paper by the wings was sprayed with water and pleated together while wet. I wanted to mimic the wings a bit. Mixed media is so freeing and just therapeutic for me, I highly encourage you to grab some beautiful G45 papers, some mists , and some texture mediums and have fun!" -Miranda

With the gorgeous Graphic 45 pastel color palette it's easy to create a romantic card or gift for a friend or loved one! Let Susan's splendid card inspire you to create something special with your favorite collection! Here is what Susan had to say about this classic card!
"Here’s a wedding card I created using Graphic 45’s Le Romantique collection, embellished with a Staples ornate metal key, a heart-shaped doily and some flowers. I also created a dimensional box envelope for the card, to accommodate the 3D nature of the card." -Susan

Here we have a very special creation by Denise that features our collection A Ladies' Diary! This splendid altered 8x8 Matchbook Box is so sweet and feminine. You can see how perfectly all the pretty papers from A Ladies' Diary blend together in this one-of-a-kind work of art. This would make a darling piece of home decor! Want to know how it was made?! Follow along with Denise's fun and easy tutorial to create this masterful shadowbox for yourself or someone you love! Take it away, Denise!
Tutorial:
Paint your 8x8 Kraftboard Altered Art Matchbook Box and 3 drywall screws with cream acrylic paint and set aside to dry. You can also you spray paint in Heirloom White. Then cut out your dress templates. Trace and cut out dresses with your choice of Ladies Diary Papers
Decorate your dresses using bits of trim and lace. I also used Bling from Want2Scrap. I use tacky glue for adhesive
Hot glue 7 Gypsies Mini-Hangars to the back
Now that your Matchbook Box is dry- take a few sheets of pattern paper and apply with Matte Medium-lightly layering
Take your Matchbook outer sleeve and place it on a piece of 12x12 Ladies Diary paper. Place in the bottom left corner and trace lines-cut on your paper trimmer
Slide your 8x8 paper inside the box sleeve and trace the inner square-cut out with scissors or Xacto knife, and attach to top of box (I use a Xyron Creatopia with Permanent Adhesive)
Attach on your embellishments. I used a piece of measuring tape, mini scissors, and fabric flowers and attached with hot glue
I then used Colorbox Archival Ink in Frost and go around the edges of the box, flowers, and the chipboard piece.
Hot glue a Ladies Diary Chipboard Tag down to the flowers.
Go back to the inner box, and smear some ink on the pattern tissue- blend in with a paper towel.
Now if you cut your 12x12 paper correctly you should have enough for 4- 1.75x8 inch strips to attach to the outside edges of your box. I used my Xyron Creative Station.
Now place your dresses where you like them and make a small pencil mark.
Use a tiny dab of hot glue on the screw top and place them on the marks you just made.
Take 3 small buttons and put a dab of hot glue on the tip- believe it or not this holds pretty good- just keep holding it until the glue sets up.
For the last step I added a little Ladies Diary Sticker
