“One of my projects for this month was to create a card using the new Steampunk Spells papers. But I wanted to take a different approach to the standard “card.” Instead, I created this easel card, built on top of a functioning box with drawer to insert a gift or surprise.” - Arlene

Next up is another clever altered box featuring Steampunk Spells! Behold this dazzling altered 12x12 Matchbook Box by Maria! This gorgeous work of art also doubles as a board game! This is a great example of what you can do when you let your imagination run wild! Beautiful paper layering, fussy cutting and Steampunk Spells cardstock embellishments take center stage in this wonderful creation! It is another great example of what is possible when you combine the Graphic 45 Matchbook Boxes with your favorite Graphic 45 papers and Staples! Here is what Maria had to say about this enchanting work of art!
"When I first flipped through my 12” x 12” pad of Steampunk Spells, I was blown away by the gorgeous colors, rich detail, and amazing designs. I got a kick out of reading the names of the characters from the Frightful Folly page—and that’s when inspiration hit! I immediately got the idea to make “Steampunk Spells: The Board Game” using my Steampunk Spells collection and one of Graphic 45’s 12x12 Altered Matchbook Boxes. The outside lid uses most of the imagery from the flagship Steampunk Spells sheet, along with a fully functional “wheel of terror”! Inside the box are a couple of antique bottles that I found a couple years ago as well as the game pieces, board, and cards Miss Ima Fraid, Madame Macabre, and Dr. Dreadful are able to stand upright thanks to my trusty ornate metal label holders! My game board starts out as a simple 6” x 6” album that unfolds into a larger 12” x 12” size. Players take turns spinning the wheel, collecting cards, and walking over Mr. Seymour Bones’s dead body. Whoever finds themselves in the center of the game board first wins a bottle of Graphic 45 Love Potion #45!" -Maria
