And now it's time for some Autumn inspiration! We begin with this gorgeous altered 8x8 Matchbook Box by Maiko. She decorated this joyful shadowbox with lots of beautiful papers from our new Typography collection, as well as pretty Graphic 45 Metal Staples. Petaloo flowers and Xyron adhesive tools also add to the festive charm and beauty of this darling creation. It would also make an incredible gift. Follow along with Maiko's fun tutorial to learn how to make beautiful vintage-inspired leaves with your Xyron sticker maker and Graphic 45 papers. Take it away, Maiko!
How to Create a Flexible Antique Leaf
・Either invest in a Sizzix Big Shot (shape-cutting and embossing machine ) that allows you to use dies or cut out the leaf with scissors.
・After cutting out the leaf, insert the leaf into Xyron's iconic sticker maker.
Pull out the newly made sticker and peel off the outer layer. Then make another leaf.
・This will be use to sandwich a small piece of wire between the leaf layers so you can easily bend and shape the leaf.
・Next, decorate your leaf with colorful red, orange and yellow stamp inks.
・Fold the leaf in half and brush the edge with brown ink to resemble the midrib of the leaf.
Then brush the outer edges of the leaf with brown ink, too.

Here is another gorgeous idea for Autumn home decor. Here is Nichola's stunning altered wooden key cubby that she transformed into an elegant work of art! This cheerful creation combines our French Country and 12 Days of Christmas collections with pretty Petaloo flowers and Xyron adhesives. This craft is a true celebration of the seasons. Here is what Nichola had to say about it!
Every time a design team box arrives I just want to jump in and play with everything all at once. That’s sort of what happened with this little ode to autumn. I reveled playing with all of the new crafty gadgets, toys and goodies from Graphic 45 and their fabulous, generous partners Petaloo, and Xyron. When asked to create a decor piece with the season in mind, I did not think of pumpkins or Halloween. In our household autumn means “Harvest”. Turning leaves, migrating birds, fall flowers, chilly mornings and blue grey skies. I wanted to create an elegant homage to autumn, the most gorgeous time of year.
The base of this piece is an inexpensive wooden key cubby. I dismantled the box, removed the hardware and painted the wood then embellished with French Country papers. I chose the blue hued Provance and Abundance to act as a sort of subdued sky. To adhere the papers I used the Xyron Mega Runner which worked like a charm. (Seriously, I’m a total adhesive dork and this was soooo sticky.) AND to adhere the birdcage cut-out from Gina’s at the top I simply ran it through the Xyron sticker maker!
Adding an assortment of Petaloo flowers and leaves to my shrine, I chose a quiet pallet which compliments the sort of old world, natural feeling of this little hidey place. I really do love the Petaloo flowers and leaves, they look beautiful and are divine to work with.
A bit more mixing and matching, a few splotches of paint, some beautiful 12 Days of Christmas birds and my homage to the harvest season is complete.

My second hobby is miniatures and I have mentioned here that our national (N.A.M.E.) organization's monthly magazine had TWO articles about paper crafting in miniatures. Here you have projects that fit the bill for both venues!! I will cut a little deeper into the pumpkin for the carriage and be able to put some miniature items in there to create a small scene... done and done!! I am going to show this to the members of my miniatures club who are congregating at my house today. They will love this video. And I have used that small wooden key box (got mine at Michael's for $1.00) for miniature scenes in the past but never used the G45 papers. That will be next on my list because this project is delightful. That, too, can have a mini scene added with miniature furnishings, etc. Oh! I love this stuff!
Now, all I need is to win the prize so I will have plenty of stuff to work with...
