Typography Friendship Card Clare Charvill Pic 8

Hello G45ers,

The word is out, our new Typography collection is so much fun! It's just perfect for cards, mini albums, layouts and so much more! Today we're going to explore two gorgeous ideas for Typography cards and mini albums. You'll see a whimsical tag mini album by Anne Rostad that includes some helpful tips for creating one of your very own! Then Clare Charvill is going to take you on a step-by-step tutorial to show you how to make a gorgeous friendship card! There's so much to discover on today's bright and beautiful blog! Enough talk, lets start crafting!

Here is Anne's incredible Typography tag mini album and note holder. She used both Graphic 45 Regular and Large Tag Album Staples to create this elegant mini. This is such a clever way to add stunning dimension to your tag minis! Here Anne explains some great tips on how she created this amazing work of art! Take it away, Anne!

I had so fun playing with this Typography paper collection from Graphic 45. Made this note holder as a manly gift and there is place for a personal message on the back. I think it is great to give some homemade gifts that can be used. I used Typography collection, cardstock and chipboard cut outs, a clothespin all from G45 and Tim Hotz typewriter die on the front and crackle accent rusted it. Also used a TH hand typewriter Brown - black Distress inks and black paint dabber to make it a bit old and vintage. I also used mustache movers and shapers die that I did the same with. The tags hold together with the hand and some magnets.

The tag holds the typewriter in place and there is a hidden place when the typewriter folds down. The little number tag is from the booklet.

Right tag opened and here I cut out typewriter in 4 pieces and placed a magnet behind each. Under the blue paper there is a magnet plate so the magnets can be placed where it is needed. On the right side I fussy cut out this gorgeous lady and she holds a quote cut out from the paper line.

Without the tags there is place for some notes under the magnets and clip.

All open and I made a note block from cardstock that I clip together with some staples 5 and 5 papers and  then glued them all together. Used a perforation tool 1/2 inch from the top of each paper so they easy can be ripped off.

Also a large tag behind the note holder with a wood ruler and Pediments die from TH on the top.

On the right side I used a typewriter movers and shapers die from TH with crackle accent random over.

On the left side there is a pocket cardstock cut out from the paper line with some tags attached with a paper hinge. There is also a chipboard cut out on the top attached with a brad so it can spin. I had lot of fun fussy cutting and all the cut outs are covered with Claudine Hellmuth Multi matte and outlined with a Zig pen.

Also decorated the backside and fussy cut out this gorgeous vintage man that holds the typewriter pocket.

Made a little booklet with a pen nib closure. Closes with magnets under the pen nib. Cut out some keys from the paper and used crackle accent over after I painted the back with brown paint.

Cut out a 10 x 1 5/8 inch paper and scored every 1 inch. Folded back and forward and glued to and to together only on one side and bottom to make sides with pockets. Cut out 3/4 inch strips and glued the numbers on top. You can see picture of it a little further up in this post.

Different ways to combine tags - Tutorial

2 large tags and one regular. Cut off 1 1/2 for the middle part. Round the corners at the bottom and use the cut off piece as a template.

Glue on hinges inside The left hinge is cut at 1 1/2 and score at 1/2 and 1.

The right hinge is cut at 1 5/8 and score at 1/2 on each side.

Now it should look like this folded.

It is great to make a template of the tag and use repositionable tape on the back. Then you just can place the template on your paper and cut around. For the hole I used a 1/5 inch circle punch, but if you dont have that you can use the top of a marker or so and draw around.

Supplies:

Typography paper collection, cardstock and chipboard cut outs and 2 large and one regular tag from Graphic 45, Glue, Score pal, cardstock lace, Tim Holtz dies, Claudine Hellmuth multi matte, Zig pen crackle accent, rust medium, distress inks, paint dabber and magnets

It's just perfect for cardmaking! Clare's amazing card is perfect for any occasion. Get inspired to create this joyful card for someone you love! Have fun following along with Clare's fun and easy tutorial. Take it away, Clare!

I loved making this card and working out what should go where on each of the sections.  I went for greens and reds but it could be made with any paper combination to suit your own tastes. It can also be made from both paper sizes in the collection.  I went for the 8 x 8 as I had them out in front of me .

Here’s a list of the papers used

Celebrate

Typography

Inspire

Create

12 x 12 Journey for large Friend and Merci words (you can also use the “A True Friend” cut apart from the 12 x 12 paper for the sentiment)

To make the card start off with a piece of black card stock that measures 12’ x 8.”With the long side at the top score your card at 2” 4” 8” 10” marks. Turn it so the short side is at the top and score at 2” and 6” marks. Keeping the short side at the top cut along both top and bottom score lines starting at the 2” line and stopping at the 10” line. Your card base should look like this:

Now you’re ready to decorate your card.  Cut out the following pieces.

Four red script print mats 1 7/8” squares from Inspire

Four red striped mats and a 3 7/8” square from Create

Two Green 3 7/8” squares and two 3 7/8” x 1 7/8” oblongs from

Two 3 ¼” news print squares from Journey and the “ A true Friend” sentiment plaque

The “Hello Grazie Merci” cut apart with the three ladies on (top left of Typography paper).  Trim to 3 ¼” square and cut out a black card mat 3 3/8” square to mount it on

The Green & etc cut apart from Typography paper

Also cut two black card/cardstock mats 3 3/8” square and one that measures 2 ¼” x 2”

Ink the edges of all of your pieces to remove the white core edge before assembling your card.

Start with the two large green squares, stick them to the first and third middle section of your card base.

Next add the large red square to the centre section and the Hello Grazie Merci cut apart mounted on black card to the first green covered section.

From the “A True Friend sentiment cut a part ” cut the top lie off – A True Friend, mount on foam tape and stick over the Good Morning cut apart at a slight angle.  you could use the wording from the 12 x 12 paper for a bigger sentiment. Add the top row of papers as follows: Red Stripe, red script green long, red script and red stripe and repeat the sequence along the bottom section of your card.
