Give Gratitude With Cards & Banners
Hello G45ers,
It's always a good time to give thanks and gratitude. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we're reflecting on what we're grateful for this year. It is nice to have a special holiday that helps us remember to stay thankful. Well today we're celebrating giving thanks with two wonderful craft projects! You'll see a beautiful friendship card by Clare Charvill that features our Typography collection. Then Denise Johnson is going to share a family-friendly tutorial for creating a beautiful gratitude banner. Get ready to feel the love with today's super fun Graphic 45 blog!
First we wanted to remind you all about this week's blog contest! We're giving away this festive 12 Days of Christmas prize that features a 12 Days of Christmas 8x8 paper pad, 6x6 Patterns & Solids paper pad, Chipboard Die-Cut, Stickers, Stamp set, Large Tag Album Staples and Ornate Metal Keys! That's a $60 value! Just leave us a blog or Facebook comment this week for your chance to win. We will announce one randomly chosen winner on Friday's blog so stay tuned!
We begin with this lovely Typography friendship card by Clare. Handmade cards are a great way to send love and gratitude to a friend or family member. You can have so much fun personalizing your cards with your favorite Graphic 45 papers and Staples. We just love the fabulous dimension of this sweet tri-fold card. Layering your Typography papers, Chipboard Die-Cuts and cardstock Tags & Pockets helps add even more beauty and joy to your creations! Here is what Clare had to say about this vibrant work of art!
Having looked at the cut-a parts in this gorgeous paper collection I decided they would fit really nicely onto a tri fold shutter card. I hadn’t made one of those before so it made the project even more fun. From the collection I started with the Dear Friend tag from the Tag and Pocket set and picking out the colours chose the rest of the papers I wanted to use. Then I cut out the black quotes from the Journey paper and started to work out the measurements for the card.
Once
I had those, I set about cutting and folding the base of the card using black
250gsm card.
When
I’d covered the card with the base papers I started to decorate each one with
the different embellishments I’d chosen.
To
finish I cut the Dear Friend tag down to fit behind the chipboard piece and
added some card and paper tails and flowers so it resembled a rosette.

Wasn't that pretty, G45ers?! And not it's time for some family crafts! During this festive season, it's a great opportunity to gather the family around the table for a fun and creative craft project! Here is a dazzling idea for a decorative banner that the whole family can create together! Denise combined lots of different Graphic 45 collections in this festive piece of home decor. This is also a great idea for a Thanksgiving Day craft project that all of your guests can enjoy! Take a look at Denise's marvelous video and tutorial to find out how you can make this fun and easy project this holiday season! It's the perfect way to commemorate what you're grateful for this year! Take it away, Denise!
On Thanksgiving Day I plan to have a little craft table set up with all the supplies at hand. I will ask my guests to please take a moment to craft a pennant...they can go to town and create a masterpiece or (for the grinchier types), simply jot down their gratitude thought on a tag and I will (or have the attending kids) decorate their pennant. I love to save these creations (this one will fold up quite nicely for storage!!),
and use again and again over the years...my returning guests just love seeing their creations and reminiscing about our evolving thoughts of gratitude (and hairstyles ;o)
This Family Friendly project can serve multiple purposes during the busy holiday season:
-Create & use to decorate the Thanksgiving table or adorn the mantel
-Bring the whole family together for family fun time
-Corral the children on hectic Thanksgiving Day with a fun craft project
-Get the entire extended family to explore their creativity and share special thoughts of gratitude
-Add photos or take photos throughout your Thanksgiving festivities, adhere coordinating photos to each pennant to create an everlasting/ever-growing keepsake and tradition.
Video Tutorial:

Preparing is super simple...
1. precut a selection of pennants
2. prep thankful journal tags
3. cut photo mats. (I cut 2.5x2.5 mats so I can print Intstagram pics to place on each pennant)
4. include a nice supply of border strips and random embellishments (great way to clean out your craft bit junk drawer!)
5. toss in some gluesticks and scissors
Thats it!!
