Tutorial
Here’s what you’ll need:
Graphic 45 Staples Ornate Metal Key Holes
Graphic 45 Staples Ornate Metal Keys
Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells Chipboard 1
Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells Flowers
May Arts ribbon
Jump ring
Stud or brad
- Cut your ribbon to desired length and thread it through the top of your Staples Metal Key Hole.
2. Attach the Staples Ornate Metal Key to the Ornate Metal Key Hole using a
jump ring.
3. Secure the end of the ribbon using a brad or a stud. I added a Steampunk
Spells Chipboard and Flower to the stud. Done!
Here's another fabulous idea for a great gift on a budget. Check out Arlene's amazing altered spatula that's all decked out in our Secret Garden collection! You can find these basic items in any thrift store or even in your own house! Don't let an old spoon or spatula go to waste! Make it pretty with your favorite Graphic 45 papers and Staples! It's fun, easy and it makes a heartfelt piece of home decor! Here is what Arlene had to say about it!
“I always look for fun ways to alter unique things that are laying around the house. I found this wooden spoon and spatula set in my pantry and thought it would be fun to alter the spatula. I created a mixed media base and layered lots of metal, some lace, and elements from Graphic 45’s Secret Garden (my forever favorite collection!) I’ll be gifting this to my Mom for Christmas. She just adores gardening and cooking. I think this altered art would look lovely in her new kitchen! Tip: Once you’ve completed your project, before adding charms and key, spray entire altered wooden spatula with Mod Podge spray sealant. This will ensure a tight seal so moisture won’t damage your creation! Hope you give one of these altered wooden spatulas a try for your next handmade gift from the heart!” -Arlene
