What would the Twelve Days of Christmas be without a beautiful card to commemorate each day? Here is Gloria's fabulous and festive card for the 1st Day of Christmas. Get inspired to create some special cards for everyone on your wish list with Graphic 45 and 12 Days of Christmas!
"Each card in the series depicts one of the 12 Days of Christmas, inspired by the iconic English Christmas carol of the same name. Nothing says vintage Christmas quite like a 230-year old carol. The new paper is filled with vintage Christmas images sure to thaw the heart of even the most hard-hearted Scrooge! When I received my box of paper from Graphic 45, I fell instantly in love with this paper line. I love vintage Christmas and traditional colors. This paper collection is perfect!
The soft green and gold of pears inspired this card. The vintage images capture the imagination. Plus, nothing says Christmas like a pop of red!
I used sharp scissors to fussy cut the partridge and the pear from the Turtle Doves paper. I wanted to give the images more dimension, so I not only popped them from the paper with foam squares, but I added die cut leaves, a wire stem, and a pearl to the pear. I also hand cut the title to look like an old sign.
The card contains a lot of layers, like most of my cards, requiring extra postage. However, since this card can also be home decor, I think some extra funds to mail it is not too much to ask!
I also decorated the inside of the card. I created another dimensional pear and added a sticker and a strip from the Joyeux Noel paper." -Gloria
