Here we have a gorgeous card that Gloria created to celebrate the 8th day of Christmas. This sweet card includes a cute pocket with three mini tags. This lovely card definitely captures the rustic charm of the 8 maids a-milking, while the greens and reds from 12 Days of Christmas add lots of holiday cheer. Here are some tips from Gloria on how she created this wonderful card! We encourage all of you G45ers to have some fun creating your own handmade holiday cards with 12 Days of Christmas!
I fussy cut the milk maid from the Swans a Swimming paper and attached her to the card with foam adhesive. I wanted to make sure to include her cow, so I decorated a library pocket with a cow image cut from Pear Tree paper.
The pocket holds some little tags that I cut from various paper; each tag contains a sentiment.
My milk maid needed a bit of sparkle, so I gave her a sparkly flower!
I decorated the inside of the card a sticker and a strip of paper.

Now it's time for a fun-filled holiday gift tutorial that Karen created! This is her gorgeous altered pillow box with artfully decorated candies. This is a great gift for friends and family. It also makes a perfect stocking stuffer! Enjoy Karen's step-by-step tutorial to create this vintage-inspired treasure! It's so quick and easy! It's also a great way to upcycle old boxes! Take it away, Karen!
These little pillow boxes are really fast, and fun to make. You can purchase the little acetate pillow boxes, pre made from a department store, as I have, or, there are cutting dies available so you are able to make your own if you wish.
Supplies:
12 days of Christmas Collection, 12 x 12 ‘Calling Birds’ paper, 8 x 8 pad, Chipboard die cuts 1, Banners
Tutorial:
Step 1: (above) Glue a small doily to the front of the box, then wrap a piece of ribbon around it, and secure with glue at the front (this will be covered so you won’t see the glue)
Step 2: Glue the chipboard die cut to the centre of the doily, add a bow to the bottom.
Step 3: Fussy cut the rose image from the Calling birds paper.
Step 4: Fussy cut the bird image also TIP: I have cut a second image of both the roses, and the bird, and adhered them together, using foam tape, to give a 3D appearance, but this isn’t essential.
Step 5: Arrange fussy cut elements as show below.
Step 6: I have used some individually wrapped Hersey chocolates, but you can use any chocolates, or candy you wish, as long as it is wrapped.
Step 7: Trim rectangles to size using your chosen papers from the collection, I have used the 8 x 8 Paper pad for this step. Wrap paper around the chocolates, adhere together on the bottom.
Step 8: Take 6 coordinating circles from the Banners sheet, apply a coat of Dimensional magic, or similar, and allow to dry.
Step 9: trim strips from the Joyeus Noel paper, and adhere around the centre of each chocolate. Apply Banner circle’s once the dimensional magic is dry, and your pillow boxes are all ready to give to the special people in your life this Christmas.
