3 Ways to Update your Home Decor with Graphic 45
Good morning G45ers,
Have you been in the mood to update some things, recently? It's the time of year where you've either had lots of snow days or the holidays have slowed down and you finally have time to re-imagine some of those spaces that have been on your to-do list. We have some great items to inspire your space! We have a jaw-dropping altered Botanical Tea coffee grinder from Miranda Edney. Then, a great set of Good ol' Sport altered blocks by Nichola Battilana. To close out the blog, we will share a great chalkboard using French Country by Olga Struk! You will run from your computer to do some sprucing!
First, here's a little reminder of the incredible contest going on this week...and they're some retired collections! That's truly the best part. How fun! All you need to do is comment here on the blog or on our Facebook to win. We'll announce the winner tomorrow, so comment today! Here's another peek at the goodies up for grabs...
This next Botanical Tea project by Miranda is perfect for a centerpiece, for display, or decor for your next tea party. This is just an amazing piece of altered art.
"I found this old timey coffee grinder in a thrift shop awhile back. I knew G45 paper was in order, but wasn’t sure which line. Then ….. BEHOLD…. Botanical Tea! Swoon! I just can’t stop using this one! It very well may be….my favorite line to date! There , I said it :)
Anyways I crackle painted the top rounded bowl grinder. The rest was covered with paper! Add some spanish moss to the top and decorate your nest however you want! I had a start to finish on this, unfortunately the video file was 'corrupted.' If you have any questions , I’d be glad to help :)" -Miranda
Love the way Miranda let some of the coffee grinder still peek through, but covered with strips of paper. What a great shabby chic touch!

Nichola created some great Good ol' Sport altered blocks that would be perfect for a masculine study, a child's bedroom, or a game room! The possiblities are endless!
"Recently I joined a swap exchanging Artist Trading Blocks. These blocks of wood measure 2.5” x 3.5” x 1.5” and are embellished and traded just like ATC’s (artist trading cards). It’s great fun to create these tiny 3 dimentional works of art and I thought it would be a fabulous medium for the Good ol Sport collection. How great would these look in a masculine den or sports lovers room?
A few tips for making your own: The top finials and bottom stands are simply miscellaneous wooden pieces adhered together. Old wooden knobs and pulls, chess pieces, crafting pieces pieced together until they look just right. Once painted or stained they look as though they are one piece. Add some age to the pieces by grunging them. Sand all of the edges and then staining them with dark brown, watered down acrylic paint. To protect the finished project, coat with a light sealant." ~ Nichola
Love the distressed look of these great altered blocks. Amazing work!
