Annette is so wonderful with layouts. We cannot wait to share this Good ol' Sport LO with you today, and there's a tutorial!

"I knew when I first saw the Good Ol’ Sport collection I was going to create something for my good ol’ sport husband, Paul, the hockey player and former all-around athlete. I love that even though he’s an older fellow now, he still enjoys the rough and tumble sport of hockey every Sunday morning. I call it the real man’s sport. So in tying in with his love of hockey and his vintage self, Good Ol’ Sport was the perfect fit! (Gee, I hope he doesn’t read this blog. Honey, I’m your biggest fan.)" - Annette

Good ol' Sport Layout Tutorial from Annette

Good-Ol-Sport-Hockey-Layout-Graphic45-Annette-Green-Tute-Photo-01-of-6

1. Begin with a 12 x 12 green cardstock base. Cut an 11 ¾” x 11 ¾” piece of black cardstock. Cut an 11 ½” x 11 ½” piece of “All Star.” With a sanding block, sand the outer edges of “All Star.” Distress all the three pieces with a distressing tool then ink the edges. (All inking of edges is done with Black Soot unless otherwise instructed.) Adhere these pieces as shown.

2. It should look like this when you have completed step 1.

3. Cut a 6” x 11 ½” piece of “Newsworthy” then distress and ink edges, adhere to upper third of layout as shown. Cut a 6” x 1 ¾” piece of “Cheer On” and ink edges then adhere to left edge of Newsworthy leaving ¼” space to left. Cut a ½” x 6” strip of “Victory”, ink edges and adhere next to “Cheer On.”

4. Cut apart the postcard image from “Touchdown” and ink edges. Cut a 1” x 4” piece of “Victory”, then cut a bracket-shaped edge along the right side. Ink edges and adhere this with the postcard to layout as shown. Create a cluster of tickets from the sticker sheet for the upper left corner by arranging them together on a craft mat, then slicing across the bottoms in one stroke with a craft knife. Gently peel up and adhere this unit to the layout. (Doing it this way eliminates bulk.) Finally trim the red plaid border sticker to 11 ½” then sand and ink edges and adhere to layout as shown.

5. Cut two photo mats from black cardstock: 6 ½” x 4 ½” and 2 ½” x 3 ½”. Mount photos to mats and adhere to layout as shown. Add three large buttons with waxed twine using strong liquid glue. Add more stickers as desired.

6. Make desired finishing touches with more stickers. Note: I used foam tape to pop up several of the stickers for added dimension and interest. An ornate metal brad is affixed to the “No. 4” sticker tag overlapping the photos.
