Guest Designer Kristin Wilson Wows with Botanical Tea
It's Wednesday, and we have a fantastic guest designer for this wonderful Wednesday! Kristin Wilson from last year's Design Team provides some fantastic ideas with Botanical Tea. Then, we will share a project from Tara Orr from the Graphic 45 Vault! Let's start the fun!
We are so honored that Graphic 45 Design Team alumni Kristin Wilson agreed to make a tutorial this week for our blog. We love Kristin's beautiful style and great ideas. Today, she provides such a great idea for party favors. So fun, thank you Kristin!
"These darling petite purses make the cutest take home bags for several party ideas. These would be precious when used as a take home bag for a little girl’s glamour party. Simply fill with a few lip glosses, eye shadows, and nail polish for the perfect reminder of all the fun. These purses are great for a little girl’s birthday party, tea party, or as a gift to a special friend. Since the bags used in this project are brown paper bags you can fill them with tasty treats as well." ~Kristin
Kristin Wilson's Botanical Tea Gift Purse Tutorial
Step 1: To start, cut a standard brown paper bag 4” up from the bottom, making sure to include the entire base of the bag.
Step 2: Using Botanical Tea 6x6 solid pink paper cut a piece so it measures 5 ¼”wide. Score the paper 2” down from the top. Your end piece should be 6” h x 5 ¼”w and scored at 2” from the top.
Using Botanical Tea 6x6 solid pink paper cut a second piece so it measures 4”h x 5 ¼”w.
Using Botanical Tea 8x8 Sweet Chamomile paper cut two pieces so they each measure 3 7/8”h x
5 1/8”w.
Step 3: Using Botanical Tea 8x8 Just Because paper cut a strip so it measures 1 ¾”h x 5 1/8”
Step 4: Adhere the pieces of paper as shown above.
Step 5: Using the crop-a-dile punch two holes on either side on the back of the large sheet of paper just under the score line.
Step 6: Using the pink ribbon thread one end at a time through each hole and scotch tape to the back of the paper. Doing this step now will hide the ribbon on the inside of the purse.
Step 7: Take the flat side of the cut brown paper bag and put some adhesive on it. Please note: you want to place the adhesive on the bag and not on the large piece of paper.
Step 8: This is what the purse should look like at this point.
Step 9: Fold the lip of the brown paper bag down and apply adhesive to the brown paper bag.
Step 10: This is what the purse should look like at this point.
Step 11: Using the Botanical Tea Cardstock Sticker Sheet place the pink corners on the bottom corners of the purse.
Step 12: Gather the following supplies and punch out a scallop circle using Botanical Tea 6x6 solid green paper.
Step 13: Using adhesive create the following embellishment by layering one circle on top of another and adhering the Shabby Chic Metal Brad in the center.
Step 14: Adhere the scallop circle embellishment using Glossy Accents so that half of the circle is viewable from the lip of the purse.
Step 15: Using the Velcro Sticky Back White Coins adhere them as shown in the photo above.
Step 16: Using Botanical Tea Banners punch a hole in the pink celebrate banner, thread with twine, and tie it to the ribbon on the side of the purse.
I hope you try this simple & fun project!"
