Alluring Ideas with Altered Art
Hello G45ers,
It's another beautiful day on the blog! Today we are highlighting wonderful altered art projects. We have a beautiful Botanical Tea frame by Rhea Freitag. Then, we close out the blog with a terrific Typography altered signboard by Nichola Battilana. We will also share a great project from our Facebook page. Join in the fun!
Now it's time to show some love to all the great projects shared on a daily basis on our Facebook page. We love when you share your projects and love to highlight the great projects you share there! Today, we have a beautful Botanical Tea layout by Paula Calvanico. Love how she uses the rose paper as the background and then creates a dimensional layout with the few 3-D roses.
Rhea uses great techniques on this Botanical Tea frame below. Love her banner and beautiful flowers!
"This piece was inspired by the desire to use this wonderful frame provided by Walnut Hollow, as a product partner for Graphic 45. I was eager to see what this plain base would take when it came to altering. I was very pleased with my result and I managed to create lots of different tones and texture. I used the coordinating Cardstock Stickers, Banners and Flowers all from the Botanical Tea line to compliment the papers chosen from both the 12x12 and 8x8 stack. I think this would make a grand gift for mother’s day." -Rhea

"Even though this piece is made up of found objects, old things, new bits, and supplies from here there and everywhere, the elements compliment each other and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I started off with a sturdy Innkeeper Signboard from Walnut Hollow, painting it black then sanding the edges to give a little bit of age. Typography’s “Journey” provides enough visual punch that there wasn’t a need to go overboard with loads of different papers and patterns. A thin slice of “Create” around the edge gives just a hint of accent colour. The copper gears in this piece are made of chipboard, painted with a metallic paint, then brushed with a hint of black. A whole lot of fiddling and fussing went into this piece, but it sure was fun and I think all that playing was worth it." - Nichola
