Two Great Cardmaking Ideas with Graphic 45
Hello G45ers,
Welcome to the blog this wonderful day! We have two terrific card ideas this fine Tuesday. Nichola Battilana has a whole Bird Song card set for her son who trains in karate. Then, Anne Elisabeth Rostad shares a great Congratulations Good ol' Sport card tutorial. Enjoy our day of cards!
Before we jump in, we have an extra special share from our Facebook. We adore seeing our G45ers work each and every day. It really is a great place to get so many great ideas all made by you! Today, we are sharing this beautiful Spring home decor piece by Melissa Torres Divelbiss that really blew us away when we saw it! Melissa uses a mixture of Sweet Sentiments, Secret Garden, and Nutcracker Sweet stamps with paper-pieced dresses for this gorgeous creation! Wow!
We love how Nichola challenges herself with new and fresh ideas for papercrafting. We love her inspiration for the cards below.
"While I am usually very easy going, and tremendously laid back, there is a spark of determination that is that is set alight when I am challenged. So, when my son’s sensei mentioned creating a karate theme craft, my mind raced. Using the beautiful papers of Birdsong I’ve created a series of cards inspired by the belt colours yellow, orange, blue, green, brown and black. The cards are simple and restrained, reflecting some of the principles of martial arts: to be humble, outwardly gentle, and display courtesy. I thought these might be an ideal way to commemorate the important milestones of belt achievement." - Nichola

Anne is such a great teacher of beautiful creations. We love this Good ol' Sport card below, and her fantastic tutorial! Enjoy making this handsome card.
"Here is a tutorial on this 6 x 4 card made with the beautiful and colorful Good OL Sport collection from Graphic 45." - Anne
Start with 12 x 4 black cardstock and score at 6". Cream cardstock 5 3/4 x 3 3/4 and distress with black soot and vintage photo.
Cut at the frame and glue over the postcard and cut around. Here are some suggestions for decor.
Glue on the bottom, top and left side so the cards can slide under.
Glue on a ticket and a little stamp just on the sides and place the golf player over.
Some suggestions for the inside. The stamp is from papyrus and I love that I can stamp the words I need :-)
Glued the golf player only in top, bottom and left side so I can slide something under. May be a gift card.
Also decorated the backside to finish the card up.
Decided to have the congrats in front and pop it up with 3D foam.
Supply list:
Good ol' Sport collection, Scor buddy, glue, black and cream cardstock. Distress ink, 3D foam and stamp tool.
Check out Anne's Snapguide tutorial to follow along as well! We love this card.

Bird Song was not a favorite of mine. Until seeing this series of cards, my mind was drawing a blank on how I would use the images. I especially like that each card features a different image...the dragon is my favorite. Good Ol' Sport, however, is already in my house! Thanks for today's inspirations!
