A Fond Graphic 45 Farewell to Alberto Juarez Diaz
**We wanted to start off thanking you for your patience yesterday as our blog host, Typepad, was down and fighting off a hacker attack. Thank you all for your patience and understanding! If you missed the blog yesterday, please view Aideen Fallon's wonderful blog post.
Today is a bittersweet day on the blog. We are celebrating the magnificent work of Alberto Juarez Diaz! You have seen his truly inspiring work the last two years on our Design Team. He is a true mini album artist, and he makes the most detailed, remarkable, and truly exhilirating altered art. We are going to miss Alberto so much and are constantly in awe of his work. Today, we will share never-before-seen projects from Alberto, and then share some of the highlights of his time with us. Since we can't share them all, what were some of your Alberto favorites? We cannot wait to spend a whole day celebrating his incredible work!
"I'm a guy from Spain, and I have been doing scrapbooking for over three years. I discovered scrapbooking by chance. I wanted to make a special gift, a diary for a trip (I love travel) and that's how I discovered the wonderful world of scrapbooking. My style is vintage, totally a classic vintage Victorian European style. I also enjoy working with bright colors, as in the vintage bright colors are perfect. There is no other brand like Graphic 45 that offers all of that." -L. Alberto Juarez Diaz
Let's begin with a completely new project from Alberto. He created this Wedding Diary using Botanical Tea and A Ladies' Diary and we just fell in love. His incredible layering and composition is absolutely stunning. The mini inside has such great details as well. This is a show stopper.
The spine uses Spring Duet from Botanical Tea and it has the most perfect vintage look. We love it!
Alberto creates the most unique and stunning mini albums, and this wedding diary is no exception. Imagine storing your favorite notes, photos, and special treasures from your big day. What a truly remarkable keepsake!

This project has been shared on the blog before, but it was one of our personal favorites. A true Steampunk masterpiece with clever uses for moustraps and our Ornate Metal Label Holders. And then those gears reaching to the sky! What a genius Steampunk Spells project.
Then, you can't forget the great tag mini inside. Love the folding technique for the tags to make a cascading mini!
And who can forget this whimsical and fun Olde Curiosity Shoppe wall hanging? Love love that deer head with the beautiful clock and fussy cut butterflies filling the space. Who doesn't love the Metal Butterflies with chipboard hanging down? A dynamic detail all using G45!
We always loved Alberto's use of the retired collection, Steampunk Debutante. Here are two of the projects he made using that collection. Alberto not only masters the mini album, but he can also really amaze when he creates 3D projects like the hot air balloon below. Just really magnificent details throughout.
This was a fan and G45 favorite - Alberto's French Country altered radio! With his inspired use of G45 Staples (like the two Antique Metal Door Pulls on both sides of the "radio dial") and the perfect placement of the rich patterned papers, this project is a true standout. Another astounding piece of altered art from Alberto!
Taking this walk down memory lane has truly made us even more sad to say goodbye to Alberto. Thank you for inspiring us and for showing us such true innovation and beauty all through your time here. We will miss you greatly! Thank you for celebrating Alberto with us today. What project inspired you from his time here? Tell us below in the comments, I know Alberto will love to read them too.
Remembering Fondly,

I am going to miss you Alberto!! My all time favorite is the NY Steampunk Deputante mini album .. when I saw the way you used the Modern Marvels image in your mini that is when I fell in love with G45 and all of their beautiful papers. I scoured the internet for each 12x12 sheet I could find of Steampunk Debutante and finally got the whole collection from 4 different sites :) Hope to see you back next year :)
