Karen beautifully uses the sketch to create a Botanical Tea layout that looks completely different than Maiko's layout. See how this collection can be used in such different ways.
"I really enjoy working with sketches. I normally use them as basic starting point for my layout, then, flip, turn or change the sketch just a little to make it my own. I didn’t really alter Maiko’s sketch at all, it was beautiful as it was, all I did was make my bottom photo slightly larger than the sketch. I am so happy with how this layout turned out. It was one of those rare times when everything just comes together perfectly. But, Botanical tea makes creating beautiful layouts so easy, I truly can’t get enough of this paper collection; I have already created at least 8 projects from it, and still have tonnes of other ideas. If I was ever to design a paper collection, just for me, it would be exactly like this one." ~Karen
Materials used: Graphic 45 Botanical tea 12 x 12 paper collection – Flora, Herbal infusion, Hello friend, Sweet camomile, Just because. Botanical tea 6 x 6 Patterns & solids.
Romy uses a different color scheme completely for her sketch layout and really creates a stunner. We love the cascading postage stamps. Amazing!
"Maiko’s beautiful sketch inspired me to create a masculine lay-out about my boyfriend with a mix of two collections: Typography and Good Ol’ Sport. Instead of two photos I used only one photo and I changed the second photo in the sketch into a few fussy cut postage stamps. " ~Romy
