We Love Altered Art!

We here at Graphic 45 are huge fans of altered art. We love that papercrafting can jump off the page and turn into a 3D masterpiece! Today, we have awesome (and super fun) examples of awesome altered art from Miranda Edney and Rhea Freitag! You will leave the blog itching to alter some fun piece you find in your home. So great!

First, we have this super fun altered pig from Miranda! She has the most amazing imagination, and this project is another example of how fun altered art can be. What a great way to show off your fun personality!

"When I saw this little guy in the store I knew  I wanted to alter  it! But I thought to myself  'altered pig?'  Yep! Had to do it! Who says there are rules when creating? Graphic 45’s washi tape is perfect for altering awkward shapes surfaces! I just added a coat of clear gesso on top afterwards to seal and prime it for my inks. I did some metal foil techniques to give it a more industrial look. So fun. Hope you all like it! Hugs"~Miranda

There are just so many amazing details on this project! It's like a treasure hunt.

We are huge fans of Rhea's printer's tray. She is a true master of altered art. There are so many possibilities with printer's trays and she shares a stunning piece today using Come Away with Me!

"When I recently scored a few more of these printer trays on clearance at a big box store, I was just thrilled! I was inspired to take a stab at making a travel themed tray with the lovely new Come Away With Me paper line from Graphic 45. Of course I used all the fun extras in the line too such as the stickers and chipboard sets. To switch things up a bit I distressed the base of the project with white gilders paste to give it a worn and shabby look. I adore all the great charms I found along the way to go with the theme. I simply cut off the loops of the charms with heavy duty scissors to make for great embellishments for my assemblage work. I hope you are inspired to give one a go, they are indeed fun and easy to make!" ~Rhea
