Graphic 45 Sneak Peeks: Mixed Media Albums & Door Knocker
It's Sneak Peek time! The most fun time of year for us here at Graphic 45. We're getting ready for CHA, kits are flying out the door, and now we get to introduce our amazing G45ers to the new products! Today, we start with our brand new Graphic 45 Staples! Each and everyone is so fabulous. You will want to use them for all your future projects. Look for these new collections in stores in the next couple months.
Also, a great part of Sneak Peeks is FOUR chances per day to WIN IT BEFORE YOU CAN BUY IT! Doesn't that sound amazing? We thought so. You could win a 8x8 paper pad, chipboard, die-cut pockets and tags, and a 6x6 paper pad, a $30 value! All you have to do is comment here on the blog or on Facebook to win. How easy is that? We will announce our first four winners tomorrow here on the blog, so don't delay and take part in the commenting fun!
Before we get into the Sneak Peeks, let's see who won our giveaway this week. Our randomly chosen winner is....
-Debbie Agnello Smith
Congratulations, Debbie! Please email joanna@g45papers.com to claim your prize. Thanks to everyone who participated!
First, we are so excited to introduce our new Mixed Media Albums in Kraft, Ivory, and Black. These amazing albums measure 8.25 x 8.75 x 2 inches (210 x 222 x 51 mm). Each album includes: 4 pocket of dividers, 10 ivory art sheets, 10 Kraft Art Sheets, 8 Vellum Sheets, and 102 photo corners. These will be perfect for your album projects!
We are also excited to introduce our lion Antique Brass Door Knockers! These Antique Brass Door Knockers come with 2 screws, and the knockers measure at 2 x 1.2 x 0.6 inches (52 x 30 x 15 mm) each. Bring charm and elegance to every altered art project. They come two to a pack as pictured below. So fun!
Today, we have an album from Denise Johnson using these fabulous new Staples. What a fabulous journal using Time to Flourish for the year! She has instructions under each set of pictures as a guide to recreate your own.
"In just a couple hours time I was able to create my fill-in journal for the entire upcoming year. Now it will be so easy to stay up-to-date with my memory keeping this year!!
My journal is already so fun and layered and I just can't wait to add my ongoing photos and mementos for even more texture and chunky layers!!" ~Denise Johnson
1. Create journal cover- I covered the front of my journal with the 'August Flourish' paper. (It's my favorite of the flourish pages and incorporates an open theme and color scheme).
I used the 'Craftsmanship' paper from the Artisan Style collection to cover the back and spine.Miscellaneous border stickers and washi tape embellish the spine wrap.
I created a fun collage of random favorite things and a title block to pull it all together. I also added a hand stamped muslin book wrap to tie my journal closed and keep the contents intact.
2. Create inside pockets- I created a decorated pocket for each month. Each pocket features a photo block to mount a special picture of the month and a magnet on the back so I can display each month's pocket prominently on the fridge. I can add bits and pieces of collected keepsakes and mementos throughout the month. When the month is complete I'll add the pocket full of memories to my journal and display the next months for more collecting. An easy way to remember the little things as the months go by.
3. Create inside calendar pages- using the 8x8 Calendar Pad, I created a month page for all 12 months, adding numbers, birthdays and special occasions using stickers and chipboard elements. Creating these pages ahead of time will make it easy to fill in daily/weekly doings, memories & events as the year progresses.
4. Create inside filler pages- I LOVE all the different filler pages that come in the Mixed Media Albums! So versatile and such a fun mix!!
-The tabbed pocket pages are perfect for storing pre-made journaling cards and everything I'll need, handy and organized, all in one place.
-I love using the vellum pages to make see-thru pockets. Just the thing for storing extra photos and pretty or striking ephemera, tucked in safe, but still visible eye candy!
-I used my 8x8 scraps (the leftover pieces created when making the calendar pages) to embellish the white and kraft pages, adding tons and tons of blocked journaling and photo areas.
-Create interactive pages by using ephemera cards and washi tape. Easy & simple to create, these fun, washi-hinged, flip-up elements add even more extra journaling and photo real estate.
-I left a few of the variety filler pages blank so I can use them as needed as I progress thru my journal.
