A Fond Graphic 45 Farewell to Rhea Freitag
Rhea Freitag is simply amazing. We are so inspired by her brilliant altered style. There is a gorgeous grunge to everything she creates. She makes magic with paint, metal, and alterable items and would always come up with the most incredible ideas. She had a propensity for stunning altered printer's trays. We love each and every one she made and will be highlighting some today as we take a look at Rhea's wonderful work. We are sharing 3 completely new projects and we will share just some of the incredible beauties she made.
First, we have this incredible Staples-inspired project from Rhea using our Washi Tape Set and Claw Feet Staples. Love it!
"This project was actually inspired by the contents in the staged finished product. I had recently picked up these great old radio tubes at an estate sale and I wanted a stately place for them to gather and be on display. I thought the use of my last set of precious antique feet would suit the project well. When I saw that we had an assignment to create something with our favorite product I knew it would be metal as I simply adore playing with all the metal things. If the truth be told though, I think many of you also know I harbor a pretty deep love of washi tape, and thus this very simple little project was born out of a few of my favorite Graphic 45 staples. I have created a Snapguide so that you too can make some sweet and simple decorative storage. " ~Rhea

Next, Rhea used our Mixed Media Album to make this beautiful Home Sweet Home album. Just fantastic!
"This project is made from the fantastic new mixed media book by Graphic 45. Wow can it accept a medium! This book is sturdy and ready for you to embellish in so many different ways. To start off with a rich base on this project, I stained the areas that were going to be exposed with a vibrant orange color. You will also see that the pocketed pages inside were also stained and then distressed with water for added texture. I was inspired to create this book for my sister, who is a serious gardener and a future homesteader. The new Home Sweet Home paper is a perfect pairing for a garden theme. My hope is that she would use this book to plan her garden, record her yield and perhaps plan her canning season. I cannot wait to see all kinds of handwritten recipes tucked inside too! Cheers!" ~Rhea

We love this magical Once Upon a Springtime house from Rhea! Wow!
"Once Upon a Springtime paper holds a special place in my heart as it was the first one I used from Graphic 45! I adore the theme and the colors are perfection. The inspiration of this piece was the acquisition of the paper mache house base. I knew it would support the natural and whimsical theme of this paper. For this project I decided to add in metal embellishments to contrast with the delicate palate. Lots of fussy cut fairies peek out from the flowers around the walls of this little magical house." ~Rhea
